Re: Solution

I think this means that every time the kernel updates, then wireguard has to be un-installed and re-installed. Is this true? I can confirm that it indeed uninstalled wireguard again on a kernel update. Of interest are the packages raspberrypi-kernel-headers and raspberry-kernel. I think they are dr...

Solution

I kept poking around and trying to re-install wireguard like this. It would inevitably come back with a no. sudo apt install wireguard wireguard-dkms wireguard-tools dkms status wireguard, 1.0.20200908: added I went through my notes on setting up wireguard on a pi and this was the solution that got ...

Update breaks my wireguard installation

Hello All, I went through a long hard process to install and get wireguard working on a few raspberry pi's. However after updating it uninstalls wireguard and breaks it. After a reboot it simply doesn't work. Previous thread: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=276913 I suspe...

Integrated wifi dropping connection occasionally.

ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_fw_crashed: Firmware has halted or crashed That is the log reading that occurs every single time the pi goes offline from wifi. A reboot and the pi will be online again, sometimes for a day, sometimes for an hour. I've read updating some firmware works for some people. I've se...

Nothing in Kodi works

Hello, I tried installing and using Kodi on Buster on a raspberry pi 4 B recently. This was the 2nd attempt at using kodi as I did try it out some years back and since nothing worked back then I gave up. I think this was circa 2012. New attempt I tried even more stuff out than before and was very pe...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 WiFi dies daily

My band-aid (which uses the big hammer approach to keeping the network connected) Your big hammer approach is a refined tool compared to what I did to solve this problem. I've taken to just putting this on everything because I'm tired of figuring out why the pi isn't connected. It works, but it's s...

Okay if only one is in range does it work if you take that other one out?
The other one is in another state. It will only connect if there is only one in the wpa_supplicant.conf. It simply does not connect if there are two in the conf.

It used to let me put two in there.

Are both networks in range?
One network is out of range.

Do either of your SSIDs or PSKs contain " or ' or other special characters?
Check that your start and end quotes match.
No ' or " in psks

I don't think key management is needed?

does it behave any differently if there is a few blank lines after 15?

Thanks for the help.

Extra lines, or no lines nothing changes. I think it has to do with dhcpcd. On stretch it worked and stretch didn't have dhcpcd I think.

Re: wireguard on raspian buster

As a follow on to my progress using wireguard on raspberry pi. After I added the 2nd raspberry pi the server would always default to the last pi to connect to the server. It would never allow simultaneous connections, and never allow client1 to see client2 (or the other way around). Also, the firewa...

I eventually figured out that under [Peer] i was putting the public key of the client when it should have been the public key of the server. This corrected the problem.

Re: wireguard on raspian buster

I noticed your server reports some /24 subnets. Is it possible these overlap with the IP you are trying to assign to the Pi computer? I think it is important that they don't overlap, because Wireguard does not allow the possibility of the same IP number coming in over different virtual connections ...

I was able to get rid of the 'Too few arguments' by installing resolvconf which uninstalls openresolv.
