Re: is the arduino support for RPI2040 better then CMAKE ????

I use Geany on all my platforms as my default editor/IDE for most languages. But anyone who can add Boards to the Arduino IDE will have minimal problems with Pico. Anyone familiar with cmake on Linux will also find that solution works. Just use the method you are familiar with. "Better " i...

Why not just stick a Pi there and use 1Gbs Ethernet?
Jeff Geerling is getting 2.5Gbs with CM4 solutions.
The CM4 maxes out at about 3.5Gbs.

A HDMI solution is possible, TV station cabling?
Won't be cheap.

Making a case to teach Assembly programming too? Maybe on a Pico, but Aarch64 assembly is supposed to be easier than 32bit Arm.assembly. Brush off 68000 assembly coding or RISC-V? Hmm assembly coding in the Pico PIO? That might be very useful The editor/debugger can run in the Arm cores. If the Pico...

Rust is interesting, worth considering if it can do this. https://www.redox-os.org/ Not sure if Cobol could do that. To me any language that can make an OS has more of my attention. But then anything that works without wasting too many of my surviving brain cells is good too. Languages that make OS'...

The NOIR will need IR illumination.

There is a Sony Starvis sensor that does work.

ASMedia chip, that's a good sign.

Got that driving a 256GB WD SSD.
It was over a year before it got messed up and I had to reformat.
Moral - don't wait until your SSD is filled up.
Been looking for a bigger one.

Nice to see this back ported.
Debian 11 is looking to be 5.10 so we won't get 5.13 or 5.14 which has this in it.

There is an 8 oolour, 3 bit reflective 640 x 480 front lit and for daylight displays.

My 1.5GHz Pi4 with small heatsink runs at 47C.

Re: Vulkan driver on Raspios64 on rpi4 - Randomly loosing driver after reboot

Learning never had to do with age or financial background and projects like Raspberry Pi just prove it. The Pi came out at a time I was about to put Ethernet on a Microchip micro. 9 years later if I knew how much Linux I had to learn I might have thought twice about using a Pi that was a 1/4 of the...

I am always curious about those portable drives. Very hard to find out what brand of interface chip they have unless you plug them in and do a "lsusb" They say which version of Windows and Mac they are compatible with. For Pi's it is more hit and miss, some interface chips are not Pi USB 3...

Yep, I embed Zero's and 1B+s into things, more than fast enough headless. With Ultibo simple console graphics was good enough. The Pi4 1GB became my home PC when my Celeron Duo died. That got replaced by a 2GB then 4GB then Pi 400 with USB 3 256GB SSD ;) Got a 8GB CM4/CM4 IO to get ready for NVMe so...

This is hard-coded to the INA219 current sense board from Adafruit, a rather daunting board with which to interface. I couldn't get the pigpio word read/write functions to work, so I'm using the device read/write functions to deal with the bus directly. The configure/calibrate registers gave me fit...

Happens on 32 and 64 bit. I stared with 64bit first as it seems a tiny bit faster. I tried to compile the tests to see how much faster but got errors. 64 bit Vulkan has a lower priority but stuff is leaking through. Update/upgrade seem to override any mesa 20/21 versions i install, I keep ending up back here. Lots of the Vulkan stuff I am interested in needs 1.1 or 1.2 anyway and that's not ready...
