Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

I know this comes with "no warranty", but I would hope for a little more help considering I helped in pointing out that there are some details missing from your post (installing i2c-utils). After my suggesting the idea of making a pre-configured working I2C image, I haven't received a response in 4 ...

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

A couple ideas: -Perhaps i2ctools doesn't work as for your new way of doing things? -Perhaps there's something else I'm missing an install of to get it working (for I2C or GPIOs in general?) After all, I'm using a fresh install, and have to install i2ctools manually, which isn't in your instructions...

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

I tried what you told me with the baudrate. Pi still boots, but no listing at all under i2cdetect. Also, I'll bring up again that even though I could see the device before, when they were different speeds, I needed to use M16 to make it read bidirectional. Also, even after removing i2c-bcm2708 from ...

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

Sorry, I intended to put the wiring in. I just woke up and am booting my Pi now to remove i2c-bcm2708 from modules, I just know I used to have to add it. XD PicAxe -> RPi OutC3/I2C SCL -> GPIO5/I2C1 SCL (Green wire for identification). OutC4/I2C SDA -> GPIO3/I2C1 SDA (Yellow wire for identification)...

Re: I2C, SPI, I2S, LIRC, PPS, stopped working? Read this.

I too am having issues getting I2C to work on my RPi2 since the updates. My last firmware update that I recall my I2C working I believe was before or around the time of release of the B+, before the device tree. Long story short, I'm 95% sure it's not a hardware problem because I've tried 3 differen...

Re: Pi 2 Max Current (Fuse)

Thanks for the reply. Now, is the power handling exactly the same for the Pi2 as the PiB+? I'd think they might have higher base current to compensate for the increased number of cores, and possibly for their speed. I just wanted to make sure you weren't saying "The increased number of USB ports ori...

Pi 2 Max Current (Fuse)

Hi, I recently saw the new RaspPi 2 come out. I likes the specs, as it's part of why I swiched to Banana Pi for one of my projects. However, while this beats the Banana Pi in processors, the Banana Pi has 2 MicroUSB inputs, at least one of which allows 2 or more Amps. When I connected one battery pa...

Piface IR not detecting

I've followed the instructions as seen here multiple times: http://raspberryalphaomega.org.uk/2013/11/05/piface-control-and-display/ When I run "mode2 –d /dev/lirc0" then press a button on any remote, it doesn't detect anything. I tried a stereo remote, and a universal remove on 2 TV frequencies. I ...

Re: Can I power a Raspberry Pi with a USB External Battery?

That is POSSIBLE, depending on how it's built. But you're talking a large gamble on buying it to find it it doesn't work how you want it to. I have a screen for a 12v DVD player, that's supposed to run 10V. I forget the wattage it required, but when I put it to the 5V pin of my board when it was 1A,...

Re: Can I power a Raspberry Pi with a USB External Battery?

power a Raspberry Pi AND a 3.5" Car TFT monitor to a USB External Battery You would need a voltage stepper for the monitor. The battery pack has a 2A (probably 2.1 actually) output, and an 1A output. The Pi has a fuse that prevents the power from the USB Cable from delivering over 1A. So, obvious t...

Re: OpenITG/Stepmania?

In response to earlier posts, the biggest catch is that it seems to be compiled for a PC board (Intel/AMD) rather than ARM (which is what the Pi uses, obviously. I'm still relatively new to the *nix scene, but imma see if I can learn how to change it or emulate it. If anyone has ideas, either a simp...

Re: OpenITG/Stepmania?

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to post that I plan on personally trying this tonight or tomorrow. If I can't figure out good settings to streamline it, I'll look at reprogramming parts of it in the future, possibly. Reason is simple: I'm building a robot for comic conventions, and am insta...

Re: Dolphin - A Wii Emulator

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to post my thoughts on it. Unlike what the last poster (blc) claimed, you can run Dolphin on a mediocre computer. I question of the last person has any experience with using extensive emulator plugins. I've run //.hack PS2 games on a 2.4Ghz single core laptop ...
