Re: Synchronizing the system on an SD card with a USB hard d

You are stating the obvious with respect to the SD card system NOT being updated. I knos that. What I have been asking has been asnwered by the "rsync" you gave. And yes, I expect to have to do that myself, I don't expect anything to be done automatically for me - I am willing to do it myself. Thank...

Re: Synchronizing the system on an SD card with a USB hard d

Not sure what you are getting at here, but I am completely content with how things work now - I do not want to boot directly ffrom USB. Currently, it boots rom SD card and depending on what is in the file "cmdline.txt" it will either use the SD card as the system device, or it will go to the attache...

Pi 3 or Raspberry Pi 3. I am also using 2016-11-25 version of software, in case I wasn't clear.

Synchronizing the system on an SD card with a USB hard drive

I apologize if there is a posted answer, but I can't seem to find one for my specific case. I have Pi3 with a WD PiDrive attached using the WD cable. I have just installed the Pixel Raspbian software on an SD card and am testing the new features and trying Pixel. I do update/upgrade the software ove...

CopySD utility in new version of Jessie

Just installed the new release (2016-05-10) of Raspian Jessie and was looking at the nw CopySD utility included with it. I have a Rpi 3 and a HD configuration that works very well and was looking at the utility. I know it will copy an SD card from one card to another, but will it copy the SD card to...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 system vs Raspberry Pi system

After imaging the card, put it back in your raspberry pi 1, and do the following: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo rpi-update That should do it - if not, also try sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Follow-up: I did the sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade before I imaged the SD card and be...

Raspberry Pi 2 system vs Raspberry Pi system

Apologize if this has been answered - could not find the right phrase to Search so came up empty-handed. I have been running a LAMP/JOOMLA Raspbian on a Pi B, with some degree of success. Now that the Pi2 is in hand, I would like to run the same system on the Pi2. Since SD cards are different, can I...

New Raspberry Pi user with a questions

I used to manage a group of analysts who were modifying a BSD kernel. They gave me a username and I communicated with them via email. I did some nosing around and attempting to learn something about UNIX as a user - they would not (and I did not ask for) any privileges that could do damage. The cont...
