Us the SD Card Associations formatting tool https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ it will wipe the card. Make sure to select Full (Erase) and Size Adjustment on.

RetroPie Image Will Not Work

So basically, EmulationStation itself seems to run okay, but when I copy the files from an SFTP client or use the flash drive method the names show up and when I try to open them a white dot appears in the center of the screen, in the command line, all there is is this ==============================...

Thanks, a few hours after posting this I realized how easy it was to do myself. The worst part was that I formatted the SD card using the SD Card Associations Formatting Tool before putting the Raspbian image onto it, I just didn't realize that it would be able to delete the Linux partition.
