Re: Question about using the RPi with a relay.
Bumping this thread because it's the same question I have. I have the same relay but plan to connect two of them to garage door openers which draw either 3v or 5v (I forget which one at the moment) so power draw will be low and at no point will I ever trigger more than one for a very brief period.. ...

Re: USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
Just a quick update, I decided to start over again yesterday and the USB ports work on both Raspberry Pi devices now. I'm sure it was something corrupt with the software but no idea how that happened since it was working fine the last time I used it and then about a week later I came back to continu...

I can get ESSID & Encryption Key But No IP Address?
I'm a n00b so please bear with me. Raspberry Pi Rev2.0 Wheezy 2013-09-25 Raspbian Edimax WiFi Dongle (approved list, seemed VERY popular from all the how to's I've seen) I've read quite a few how to's & pieced a couple together to get where I am. For starters, I found this link & followed it...

Re: USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
I don't have the knowledge of how to use SSH, putty or Noobs. I have the newest version of the Pi (two now) and they don't come with SD cards. I can see if I can locate another but I have a feeling it's going to be the same thing since both Pi's do the same thing with the same card installed. I trie...

Re: USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
Bumping this thread because my new Pi arrived & swapping over the SD card it's the same thing. No USB. That tells me that the Pi wasn't the problem & my problem is software based. Now, given that I haven't done a whole lot with this device yet I'm not sure what I could have even done that wo...

Re: USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
If ethernet works then your crystal is fine... The ethernet is also on the USB bus... Are you sure the power is getting through to the USB devices? You could try using an external power supply... Or if you have a multimeter available measure the voltage on the pins of the USB connector... If the et...

Re: USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
Can you still see ethernet working correctly? if you do $ lsusb on the command line (or in a terminal) what does it give you... also look in dmesg for any USB pertinent messages... Gordon Ethernet does work. But how do I type something in a command line w/o a keyboard? Do I use another PC to do thi...

Hello did you see my post it looks similar to your problem and I fixed it ! with the help thanks mahjongg http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=53967 So you heated the X1 up or soldered the contacts again? I'm not wanting to do anything that could potentially void the warranty ...

One last post (I should probably check to see if we can edit posts on this forum  ) to state that before starting this thread I found this in the wiki regarding this problem: "No USB device works, with known good PS, SD card, KB There has been more than one report[13][14][15] of a R-Pi boo...

I also took the wireless Logitech keyboard Mouse combo that I have and tried that w/o any luck. Same thing, no response at all. The wireless combo is on the approved list as well (MX3200). The USB dongles (wireless adapter & keyboard adapter) don't show any activity at all when plugged in.

USB keyboard & mouse suddenly not working??
I have had my Raspberry Pi for a couple of weeks is all and was using a USB keyboard (Dell SK-8115) & USB mouse (Dell M-UK Del3) on it w/o issues. I don't have a powered USB hub so I was swapping back and forth between those and a USB WiFi adapter (EW-7811Un) and was able to get everything to fu...

Re: Please Help Me Connect to My Raspberry Pi via WebIOPi
Hi There, I'm not 100%, but it sounds like it may be connecting to the network just fine but maybe not auto-starting the web server? One thing I'd recommend that might help with troubleshooting is setting up the pi with SSH server running on startup: http://cplus.about.com/od/raspberrypi/a/How-Do-I...

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
Thanks for your help & the info Trev. I'll hit up that section for sure to see if I can find a solution to my issue.
And to think this is the 'easy' part and up next I'll have all sorts of questions when it comes to coding to customize the GPIO interface.

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
Yes, for this project I do need external access. I need to be able to access from a browser anywhere, not just when on my home network. Hence setting up port forwarding. I plan to change the login & password as well but first I need to be able to connect to the darn thing which is where I'm hung...

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
I should also note that I set the port for this IP to 8892 to match the IP address so it reads like this:
192.168.1.192:8892
I have the IP provisioned via static DHCP to the Raspberry Pi's MAC & then I have that port forwarded to that IP in the port forwarding section... all within the router.

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
I think that sounds like it's above my pay grade on these things. This is the last hurdle I need to clear to get this functional and then the next st...

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
Yeah, I prefer wired when possible but didn't feel like running a network cable over at this point. When I have more time I will do that but for now I just popped for a $10 WiFi dongle to get me up and running. I do have over 20 wireless clients (almost all on the 2.4GHz band at that) so I like to r...

Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
So if I powered the Raspberry Pi on with a WiFi dongle in place it should automatically register with the network w/o any input? Re: How do I get my Raspberry Pi to connect to network on bo
Good point and I should have thought of this. One thing I should point out though is that I'm planning to use a USB WiFi adapter for network communication. I could run a network cable to the location but for ease if install I decided on the WiFi adapter. Are you saying that if I boot up the Raspberr...
