Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

You may need to make the script executable with

chmod +x /root/start-gst-variable-rtsp-server.sh

The entry in my rc.local file looks like this

su pi -c '(sleep 5; /home/pi/pikrellcam/pikrellcam) &'

sleep 15 && /root/start-gst-variable-rtsp-server.sh &

The stream works but is quite flaky

Re: No audio output [updated]

I tried the hat on another Pi3 and it worked first time, I'm still not sure what the issue was with the original Pi3.

No audio output

I finally got around to putting the kit together last night and all seems to be working except I have no audio output. I have checked and triple checked the wiring and all looks OK so I am confused as to what is wrong. Do I need to enable anything within raspi-config in order to enable the audio out...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Mine was exactly the same, 3 out of 4 of my camera pi's would stall randomly. The only stable one was being powered by an old Motorola phone charger and one of the ones that was failing was being powered with an old ATX power supply so I figured it was unlikely to be power related. I literally have ...

Hi Sassel,

Have a read back a few posts. I was having the same issues and for me a kernel rollback fixed the issue.

Re: IR LED illumination power

I have mine powered directly from the GPIO pins on the Pi, it is easily bright enough to illuminate the inside of my shed and capture images with a NOIR camera.

the command I issued was

Hi Billw, Mine was frozen again this morning so I tried your suggestions. 1) I was able to clear the log file from the web interface motion_enable line does indeed toggle in the pkrellcam/state file 2) The still capture appeared to work but created a file of zero bytes in size -rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi 0 J...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

My Pi's have been running flawlessly too and have only just started to suffer this issue. The only pi that is working as expected is a pi zero with a USB dongle soldered directly to the USB port and powered using an old Samsung mobile USB plug. The Pi that is failing in my video clip is a Pi 2 power...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I have also started to experience the same issues as a couple of others on here. On 3 of my 4 camera pi's the video is freezing and can be resumed by stopping and starting pikrellcam from the web interface. Sometimes everything runs for a while again but mostly it works for a few seconds and freezes...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been requested in the past? Would it be possible to have a guest account for viewing the stream?

I would like to share one of my pikrellcam streams with family and friends but I don't want them to be able to tinker with the settings. Is this possible?

Thanks

Running out of cams.
This is something that I am interested in too. I used to use the MotionEye software which supports the camera module and USB cameras, however overall I prefer PiKrellCam.

Not a problem. I'm glad I could help. Let me know if you try 2 LEDs. I'd be interested if it makes any difference, the 1 led is pretty good in my shed.

Re: Pi NoIR plus IR LED - Led not working

I'm not sure about 2 lights. I'd try one first. No code required, there is a sensor on the led that only powers the light on when it gets dark enough. There is an adjustment screw to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.

Re: Pi NoIR plus IR LED - Led not working

I can't remember which pad went to which GPIO pin, I will take a photo when I get home. When I first wired it up I chopped the end off a jumper wire and stripped back a few centimeters of the insulation I then wrapped the bare wire around the little nut and bolt that was supplied with the LED and ti...

Re: Pi NoIR plus IR LED - Led not working

Hi Francesco, I also have one of those infra red LED lights and noticed when I came to attach it to the camera board that the official Noir does not have the metal contact pads that make contact with the LED. I ended up soldering wires to the LED and powering from the GPIO which works perfectly. Ste

New addition, a little disappointing

I took delivery of the latest addition to my Pi family yesterday. https://goo.gl/photos/RsX5PCfeq9ipoCur8 I was a little disappointed that the Pi 3 came in a plain white box (I like to keep the boxes together so this one won't be the same :? ) but I am very impressed by the performance of the new Pi...

I'm still loving this software and have it running perfectly on 2 Raspberry Pi's, one of them with a Noir camera board and an external infra red light source.
