Re: Installing iZap help

Glad you got it working! I've not been working with RiscOs very long myself, no doubt the seasoned pro's will balk at my shoddy use of terminology but now you know how to merge !Boot files. BTW- sometimes applications have a !System folder. These are merged using the system merge tool also found in ...

Re: Installing iZap help

If you are unsure how to merge !Boot here is a step by step. Double click the !Configure icon on the Pinboard to open the configuration window. Single click the Boot icon and click on Install to get Boot Merge. Drag the !Boot folder in the !Zap window to the Boot Merge window. !ZapUser will get copi...

Re: Enigma Simulator

My face is red on this one. I was fooling around with the regular config menu and must have changed the theme setting inadvertently. In addition to changing the look of the window furniture, changing themes also changes the system icon.

Re: Enigma Simulator

This runs fine on my Pi B running RC14, but installing the ConfiX utility from the same site seems to have turned my Pi into an Ionix, altering the start up splash and replacing the raspberry icon with the Ionix version! So far everything still seems to work as before, but it's certainly disconcerti...

Re: language setting

Middle click the raspberry icon at the bottom right. Left click the second item in the menu. Left click the keyboard key icon in the window that opens up. Language selection will be the first item in the next window that opens. Hope this helps.

Re: What are people doing with RISC OS on the Pi?

Thanks for the reply GavinW. If I follow correctly, it sounds like the simplest thing to do (from the noob perspective) is to add PE to the run at start up list, or run it manually before opening a JPEG file. As far as delving into the lower levels of ROS, I think I'll burn an image onto another car...

Re: What are people doing with RISC OS on the Pi?

I was new to both ROS and Linux when I got my Pi, and ROS wins hands down. Actually I like it better than Windows for that matter. So far I've been having fun just exploring the new OS. I'm not much of a programmer, but I dabble a bit in Basic so I intend to learn the specific differences of the BBC...

Re: USB Stick unreadable in Risc OS

Just an update:

My setup behaves the same way booting Rasbian. This issue seems to be stemming from a deeper level than the OS. For me this isn't much of a problem, I just need to plug the stick in after start up is finished - which for Risc Os doesn't take long.

Re: USB Stick unreadable in Risc OS

I have a stick permanently mounted on the Pi ( for storing user files ) and the keyboard and mouse are on a powered hub. If I need to move a file from PC to the Pi I use a second stick also mounted to the hub. If stick #2 is already mounted at power up the Pi can see it but can't read it. But if I p...

Re: USB Stick unreadable in Risc OS

I found that a stick plugged into a powered hub before power up is not recognized by RISCOS, but if it's plugged in after power up the same stick reads fine. My keyboard and mouse are not a problem and a stick mounted into the native usb port on the Pi before power is ok. I have the hub and Pi on th...

Re: Help with atari800 emulator

Hi guys. I'm in the same boat as tyguy2, I'm an 8-bit Atari fan, but don't have internet at home. I can take my laptop to the library and use their WiFi to download stuff. I've transferred dosbox and Chocolate Doom for Risc Os to my Pi via thumb drive. Haven't tried installing apps this way with Lin...
