Camera question

I cannot find anything on this anywhere, so I'm sorry if it has been asked before. But: I'm playing around with the Camera Module v1 (5mp) which is fine. I need to use the video (raspivid) for a monitor, but the image is much more narrow compared to taking a still. The stills have the perfect view o...

Very stuck. Need help with finding a screen.

There are many screens available out there. But I'm stuck on deciding on which to pick. And I'd like recommendations as you probably know more than me. Quite simple: Need a small screen for my Retro gaming pi. One that would work well with retropie. Size does not matter. Neither does budget. But pow...

Re: Trying to get the pi to run a command on start up

Tried the line, and nothing. So went back and opened the nano /etc/rc.local, and the line was changed to ".usr/bin"
So tried adding the forward slash "./usr/bin" and is actually working!

Very happy, thank you for the help!

Trying to get the pi to run a command on start up

All i'm looking to do, is find a way to tell the Pi to run the command "raspistill -o test.jpg" on boot, without having to login. Have tried the 1st comment here http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/8734/execute-script-on-start-up And have look everywhere for about a week now. So difficult...

Help smoothing out my experience

I'm using the Pi as a camera for a blind spot. Would like a little help for the whole setting up to me more streamlined. 1. Is there a way I can have the Pi run a command as soon as it boots without any input. Example: Running a "raspivid" command for a display. 2. Easiest way to shutdown? I'd like ...

Time lapse script question

Probably very simple, but would like some help. From the time lapse worksheet from the resources learn page. It teaches you to write a script: #!/bin/bash DATE=$(date +"%Y-%m-%d_%H%M") raspistill -o /home/pi/camera/$DATE.jpg This works fine, but was wondering if instead of the stills saving with the...

Followed the timelapse setup from the worksheet: https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/timelapse-setup/worksheet.md Works great. Just need some help changing the still capture rate. The worksheet show a still every 60 seconds. Would like to change it, a little more rapid. * * * * * /home/pi/camera.sh...

Swtching images between pi's

I have a Pi 2, and a Pi model B.
Would it be fine to switch my SD card between the two? The latest image of Raspian.

For example: Having a Pi in the car + one at work.

Would be very handy if it's fine to do this?

Little Timelapse project

Really simple project: Going to be doing a timelapse of a project, of some sort. I'm using the RPI B, with a 32gb Samsung evo card with the Rasbian Image. I have 19 days I wish to record, and want the picture as high quality as possible. I have a script for the Pi to take a still every 60 seconds. R...

Timelapse Pi question.

I am turning my Pi into a little time lapse camera to use for a few things. Would like to know though: How much footage, or how much real time could I capture before my SD card fills up? Have a 16gb card with raspian installed. But might buy a 32gb or even 64gb. Was just wondering how much time thos...

Need a little help with my car setup

I use my rpi in the car, powered from the cigarette lighter; usb adapter straight to the rpi. With a small display I modded to use power from usb, also plugged into the lighters usb adapter. Works, but is just annoying to use from manually plugging in wires for power, and shutting down before switch...

Does distance in a power or video output cable affect anything?
If I were to power the Pi with a usb cable about 3 meters long?

Thanks

A camera distant from the Pi?

Are there any cameras available that will work at a good distance from the Pi?
Wondering if there's any possible way to see from the rear view of a car for when parking in tight spots.
