Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Hi Silas, I'm using your raspbian-xbmc-2012-07-31 image with great success and I just ordered the Mpeg-2 license key. The instructions for the Mpeg-2 license advise to upgrade to the most recent version of the firmware (after August 8th). It seems 'sudo rpi-update' is firmware specific, but I'm con...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

I have a new image ready, with airplay support Hi Silas, I have been running one of your older images (July 17th). I'm really happy with it (the XBMC UI is very responsive!). Sometimes the screen goes blank however, and I need to SSH to it and telinit 6. Would it be possible to mount the July 31st ...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Okay, here is my xbmc.log file. Don't know too much about XBMC internals myself, but it looks like the log file is reporting that AirPlay isn't being started even though it is turned on. http://pastebin.com/9uLDuY5W Could you try running "sudo service avahi-daemon start" before manually starting xb...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

I have a new image ready, with airplay support By using the instructions from jmg123, I built an image with airplay. As i don't have any apple devices, I couldn't test it, but it should work, the settings are there at least Changelog: Airplay NFS This one should fit on all SD-cards, so just one imag...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Should the "small" image fit to 4GB card ? Because it does not fit to mine. Have you tried the last experimental small image? If it is that one your using, please paste the error message you get. That would help me to see how big your sd card is, and produce a image at that size :) And nice to see ...

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Anyone know what are supported video formats / video files which can be played on XBMC compiled on Raspbian? Idea is to use windows machine with DLNA media server and to transcode (on fly) whatever it is not supported for this XBMC. Tomaz. Everything encoded in h.264 should work. Other formats will...

I wanted to include the fbset fix for not being able to turn off XBMC, but was unable to do that in a good way :( Maybe next time... Thanks silas! Autologin is enabled. It will start xbmc if you wait 10 seconds, or you can cancel if you want to go to the console. How do we disable the autologin entirely? Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

That sounds great Silas, I would consider having the all wifi drivers there by default along with any remote control handsets that you can find drivers for if it is not too much work. Doing this you will be targeting the 'plugin and forget it' crowd. Oh and SAMBA support if not implemented would be...
