Rather than try to fabricate a diy control interface based on a 5" screen perhaps just use a phone or tablet for remote control and wire the display to the pi to provide status info and perhaps on-device controls.. Support for old video formats

Hi,

Is RPi able to decode (I'm thinking about XBMC) old video formats, circa year 2000. That is DivX 3.11, MPEG-1, VCD/SVCD disk images (with menu preferably), Quicktime of these times and whatnot (all SD, obviously).
