So after following all of the advice i finally saw the initial set up screen. unfortunately my keyboard doesn't work with the Rpi. I believe drivers need to be installed with it to make it work. Any suggestions on a cheap keyboard that will work, plug and play?

This actually might be part of the issue, I have an AVOL tv which is not that well known of a brand.

RaTTuS I had to go away from my personal computer at this time ill get back to it soon , but to write the image to the sdcard i downloaded the file to my desktop and unziped the contents to the SD card.

Davespice I will try that when i can bet back to my pc/ Rpi.

Ok no mouse for now, I am unable to check the contents of the card at this moment, however all i have done is download NOOBS and using Winrar i exported the contents of the folder to the newly formated 8G SD card. 1. RPi power should be applied after both (i) HDMI display is plugged in and powered up and (ii) keyboard is plugged in. 2. RPi has no VGA output. Ok bought a wired key board, reformatted my SD card, reinstalled NOOBS 1.2 via extracting using WINRAR. Unplugged everything, just plugged in the power then the HDMI then key board. Has I have tried to press the 1-4 buttons and still nothing. As far as the keyboard they are factory paired but I will try to get a corded keyboard and see if this is the issue.
