Re: How2 Install & Use SDL2 on Raspbian PI

Sorry, but I am not a PI expert. I just use it as a tool.
If someone else with more expertise does not answer your question,
I suggest you post to a PI hardware/software forum.

Re: Yet more MPU6050 demo code

Yes, I agree this is great code! I had tried three other MPU6050 libraries and none had worked. I changed the I2Cdev.cpp to /dev/i2c-1 in three places and this code fired right up on my RevB board! Hi rgh, Great demo code. I only had to change all the references in I2Cdev.cpp from "/dev/i2c-0" to "/...

System mail

So I have a fresh Raspbian install, then... apt-get install exim4 mailutils mutt When I use "mail root" (or "mail [email protected]") to send a message, it gets sent to a file named /var/spool/ mail mutt and the mail program that just sent it, is expecting the mail in /var/spool/ <username> The mail address ...

Re: Raspberry PI for Science Fair and Ideas

Make a rocket or water rocket simulator.

At some point I plan to make a water rocket simulator myself.
The user will be able to select rocket body sizes, water and pressure amount, nozzle design - SWOOSH!
The fun part will be tweaking the formulas to real world data.

Re: Raspberry doesn't start anymore

I had a simular problem. For a couple weeks it would suddenly reboot after 10-30min. Then it started rebooting after about 5secs. Then it would not boot at all, and the status LEDs where off. It turned out the usb pwr supply was weakening. My cell phone still worked fine off it. So I bought a power ...

Re: Multiple displays

You can have an unlimited number of displays connected using Xwindows via ethernet.

However, it is doubtful that RPI is powerful enough to be useful. I have a lcd monitor connected to the analog input and 1ea xwindow connected via ethernet and the xwindow is painfully slow :(

Default "C" subroutine values

I am writing a routine library for VG graphics. Is there a way in "C" to mimic how PHP allows default values for a subroutine call. Suppose I have a subroutine for writing a Point at x,y with a color. If the call is made without a color, I would like a default color to be assigned. PHP example call ...

Thanks for the comments.

I forgot about ncurses.
I have never used it but several programmers I worked with wrote many terminal programs with it 25yrs ago.
Your code looks short and simple, I'll give it a try first.

Re: Memory split?

Memory split is a "suggestion" to the OS on how to use memory. How much should be dedicated to video and how much should be available to caching etc. When you split (allocate) memory, the OS will disregard the designated amounts of memory if it gets in trouble. But it uses your selection as a guidel...

Open the main configuration file for the them your are using at...
/usr/share/themes/[theme name]/openbox-3/themerc.
Change the setting...
border.width: [value].

To force openbox to reconfigure
Run "killall -USR2 openbox"

How do you set the default file browser in Raspbian.
I found a note that says it is set in ~/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/config
