Very good!
Get busy on a write up of what software you have running
on your server. Inquiring minds want to know!

Jakesden, if you look at the date on those posts, you will see that the original poster has not been back on this forum in four years. He does not appear to be a member here anymore. You will probably never get an answer from him.
I'm surprised that someone else has not told you this before.

Bash question

A simple bash question.... In DOS, we had the "Path" line in Autoexec.bat that told the computer what directories to look in when we typed commands so that we didn't have to precede every command with the entire path. Is there a similar command in Raspian? And what file do we put it in to have it ex...

LOL! Not under a rock, but we do have lots of rocks out here near Lake Hopatcong.
And I'm upwind of Secaucus. All I smell is diesel fumes from the highway. LOL!

Synaptic package manager?

Hey guys, quick question.
I just loaded Synaptic on my Pi.
I see dozens and dozens of packages.
Will all of the listed software run on the PI?
Or is some of that for other versions of Linux or other hardware?
If so, how do I tell the difference?
Thanks!

"Sudo apt-get synaptic" returns "E: Invalid operation synaptic". :?:

Should be "Sudo apt-get INSTALL synaptic".

Pi 2 is nominated as both Best Developer Tool and Best Product, and Eben has been nomi...

Re: How do processors work?

I'm going to borrow my sentence from one of my favourite SF writers. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. I heard it just a little bit differently, Dougie: "Any sufficiently advanced technology, when presented to a low enough form of civilization, is indistinguishab...

Re: Turn-key WordPress Server Image - PressPi

1. Yes, and right there on the list is the free DNS service that I'm using, NO-IP. 2. How can I hard code my external IP address into the server when my external address is dynamic and could change at any time? That is why I'm using NO-IP, so that I don't need to pay for a static IP address. NO-IP p...

Ok, which IP address? My internet IP address which is dynamic and could change at any time?
Or the static IP address that I've assigned to the Pi on my home network?

Thanks!

Re: Turn-key WordPress Server Image - PressPi

Thanks Rionoskae. I assume you mean the docs under "How To Fine Tune WP Server" on your website. It appears you added the section on changing the password in "update your password in your wp-config.php file" using Notepad++. I'll try it as soon as I get a chance. Now I have another important questio...

My Pi has been running for a year and a half continuously from a 12 volt supply using a UBEC. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__4319__turnigy_3a_ubec_w_noise_reduction.html The UBEC will take any input voltage from 5.5 to 23 volts and put out a rock solid 5 volts. They come from the radio c...

Lobo, I do not want to edit my existing pages with Wordpress. I just want to keep them as they are, then add NEW pages to the website with Wordpress.
