Begin anecdotal evidence: I have managed to fry a new pi by trying to power through TP1/TP2 and putting the connectors on the wrong way round. My oldest pi (bought within a few months of launch) seems to be a lot more durable, having received this treatment a few times with no lasting ill effects. S...
