Re: New Raspberry Pi model 3B+ 1.4 GHz, 330Mbit Ethernet, 802.11ac, PoE

How much of the new hardware is supported by the current version of 'Stretch' and is a 3+ really that much of an upgrade?. I'm waiting for a Four ,vbg.

Re: Ubuntu Mate with Raspbian kernel: New Firefox 55.0.1 crashes on startup

Same here, Firefox just updated and crashes on running it. Thankyou for the fix by rolling back to Firefox_52.0.2 which appears to be the answer for the moment. I agree that just because Ubuntu for RPi is Community supported is not a reason for not having a presence in the forums IMO there certainly...

Re: wget raspbian image

I realise updates occur at irregular intervals and that the link you supplied might not be for the latest. But. How does one locate the address of the latest released file to use with the wget command. fwiw, It took four reconnects and three plus hours for the image zip file to complete downloading ...

Thankyou, where did you find the URL ?.
I'm using Firefox and have been getting the URL by clicking on the download button and copying the link location, but all I copied was nothing to do with the files area.

thankyou for the prompt reply, I'm off to try it...

Thanks TopGuy, the message was about kernel modules not being loaded by systemctl or similar. Thats as far as I have had time to investigate. I did try modprobe for the audio but that failed too. The latest Jessie works ok for audio through the Monitor, but 16.04 Ubuntu Mate does'nt even find the au...

Re: RPi0 8gb SD update fails

Well, the problem appears to have been solved - or at least isolated. Using the USB "hub+network" Dongle with just the CAT5 cable connected I have been able to complete the update/upgrade over ssh. So, the conclusion is that either the hub cannot supply adequate power for keyboard, mouse and Cat5 co...

Thanks for the info...... Can you try it with only the Ethernet connection and SSH in to run the updates? Does anyone know how much current the Pi-Zero's micro USB port can supply? I had'nt concidered that !!. I hav'nt seen the circuit diagram of the Zero but I'm guessing that the full capability o...

" 3xUSB---1xRJ45 USB extension Dongle " does this use an adaptor to fit the microUSB of the RPi0 ? No, the Dongle has a microUSB plug fitted as standard, It has been in use for a while without issues, and I have no reason to suspect it being a contributing factor. ---- Details of the Dongle here.. ...

Yea, we need more info about what you are doing. What do you have connected to your Zero?. Ok, Perhaps I need to be more specific for our cousins. The RPi0 is connected to a 5.2v 7.5A linear regulated power supply via the power micro USB connector , a " 3xUSB---1xRJ45 USB extension Dongle " connect...

Re: RPi0 8gb SD update fails

Well, the Network connection is one of the Micro USB connectored 3x USB and 1x RJ45 hardwired network adaptor. I'm not sure how to describe it better. I have had no problems downloading via Torrent the Image zip files using it so I don't think that could be the issue. The power supply is more than a...

RPi0 8gb SD update fails

Ge folks, Just discovered that when using an 8gb SD card in an RPi Zero with 2016-05-27-raspbian-jessie.img. When updating the distribution after expanding the file system. It crashes. I was guessing because of lack of SD Card space, so I switched to a 64gb SD card ( a new Sandisk Ultra ) and it sti...

RPi0 camera connector

Ok, the Zero camera connector is so flimsey that I, as an experienced engineer, managed to break it.
What is the connectors RS or Farnell order code ? . Thinking of buying a few to replace breakages further down the line.
thanks

That did'nt help in the least bit.
wired usb mouse is still slow but useable
wireless USB Mouse is still unusable due to slow response.

O.S. Images prior to 2015-01-31 perform correctly
the 2015-01-31 image shows this fault in all RPi boards..

any ideas welcome, especially if they resolve the issue.
