Re: Free fall with accelerometer (freescale MMA845x)

Op wants to be able to tell if a person wearing a device on their waist, has fallen over, or if they're sitting or lying down or whatever. 'free fall' will only ever come into it if they're pushed out of a window, or they fall off a bridge, or they go bungee jumping or whatever... Presumably this is...

Re: Free fall with accelerometer (freescale MMA845x)

I don't think any preset 'free fall' detection will help in OP's case, unless the person falls out of a window, or off a bridge...

Re: Please verify this can actually be done...

Thanks for the help everyone...i think what im really looking for is a block of script or something that basically says: pull value "X" from python script ____ display value "X" onto DMD board _____ via arduino uno is there something like that? The board has inbuilt controller and data is clocked i...

Re: Please verify this can actually be done...

It should definitely be possible. You're going to have to get more into the nuts and bolts of programming for it though, and it'll be wired up slightly differently, and yes, the script would be different depending on whether it would be a single-colour panel or RGB... I definitely wouldn't wire one ...

Re: Light Flick measurement

http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2012/08/reading-analogue-sensors-with-one-gpio-pin/ - this is the hardware. you'll probably have to do some tweaking with the resistor/capacitor values. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=347830#p347830 - Joan's pigpio library can read the relevant pi...

Re: 1080p 120hz

To the best of my knowledge, no model of Pi would support that. However, the TV almost certainly supports more reasonable frame rates like 1080p60 or 1080p30. Since your optic nerve actually runs at 13Hz, you are unlikely to be able to tell the difference in practice. I can tell the difference betw...

Re: RPI Zero DOES have sound

I'm going to be using a mini hdmi to vga converter - one of the ones with an audio out. They're less than a fiver on ebay, require no setup, and don't need USB.

I think it would have been cool if there was a small amount of flash on the pi zero, letting it be used like a microcontroller.

I seem to remember a post before talking about a 'burnt electronics' smell when opening the packet. Apparently it was just normal.

Probably it's just that chromium doesn't work so well. Write a post describing what you want to do - maybe there's a way to do it without getting chromium involved...

Free speech is at root a moral issue, and those who argue 'this forum is not a democracy' or 'free speech is a U.S. constitutional right, and doesn't apply here' are arguing from a legalistic standpoint, and are thereby completely missing the point. A wrong is neither excused nor justified by the fa...
