Re: Emulation on the Pi3: Initial Testing

Does the Pi 3 now play Snes Super FX games (SMW 2) full speed via snes9x-next libretro?

Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

Hi Autonomous,

Do you think you will be updating this project anymore? Are there any possibles of adjustment to tailor for the increased CPU power of the Pi 2? Is darkplaces optimized for multi core CPU's?

Thanks,

P.S Could we now maybe run Half Life on the Pi 2? Any plans? (Wishful thinking).

Sorry no. I think this method was somehow patched out with an update. I remember trying it a while back and it stopped working. It would be much easier just using Snes9x-next. It's a much better core.

Re: Super Mario All-Stars Fix (1 Player)

To be honest this fix is way outdated now. It's much easier just to use the libretro-Snes9x-next core as this doesn't have any problems with All-Stars and it has better sound/performance for snes games.

If your using Retropie press 'x' when you load up the game and change the core.

Lakka Impressions

I've been using RetroPie for a long time now and it just keeps getting better and better.

Has anyone tried Lakka on the Pi 2? If so, whats your opinion?

Can I add to this thread as I have the same problem. Sound works fine from the command line using aplay. I can play the demo .wav files in /usr/share/sounds/alsa However in emulation station and the two emulators I am currently using (megadrive and SNES) there is no sound. I have tried changing the...

Re: I need help running Nestopia on Raspbian

Use RetroArch + whatever core you need. Don't use standalone emulators on the Pi, they generally suck except for Mame4all, PiFBA and Atari800. For all the other systems, it's RetroArch ONLY. There is a Nestopia core for libretro/RetroArch. There's also an FCE core. Use that. Avoid any other solutio...

Re: RetroPie NIGHTMARE! Please help.

It normally does this if the directory you have input is incorrect. I'd double check the location of the file you are wanting to edit and make sure it is exact. Alternatively, I would strongly recommend using WinSCP. With this program you can edit/organise file on the Pi via a link with your PC. Thi...

I prefer RetroPie. It's been going for a long time and there are many RetroPie users which means there is always help on the official RetroPie forums. It continually gets updates and is optimised for performance. It's easy to install and easy to use and uses the excellent front end Emulation Station...

Anyone tested performance with this on a RPi2?

On the RPi on 720p I was getting average of 25-30fps with numerous jumps to even 60fps at times. It ran extremely well. I'd be interested to know how it's running with more processing power.

How does it look with the new Raspberry Pi2? Does it have enough power to run gamecube games? N64 works fluently, but what about gamecube? Any information about that? The rumors I heard is that it should be able to emulate the xbox one and PS4 too  I heard it does 4K with the oculus rift. ;)

Yeah sounds promising. The N64 and PS1 is already playable on an overlcocked Pi so I'd like to see what can be done with improved clock speeds and RAM.

Once Windows 10 is released for the Pi 2 hopefully this will mean that more people will be introduced and there will be more possibility for new emulators. Quite an exciting time with this new release!

Also PS1 and N64....

Also more PC game ports, half life, unreal tournament etc?

Btw the Famicom disk system, is this a RetroArch core?
