Re: Pi zero camera module suddenly stopped working - help requested

Interesting set-up... but I probably can't help you that much. Except that after destroying several Raspberry cameras, I can say that if the ribbon moves even slightly from its CSI connector when powered, it can destroy the camera.

Re: Diy gun cam

Mounted on a rifle? I have a little difficulty to imagine, even more with a screen. Also, the recoil is going to be devastating. I have many cameras mounted on various items but never thought of mounting one on one of my guns. Finally, when shooting, won't we see a very blurred image, therefore, not...

Re: Infrared Bird Box

Hello Chicken; I never bothered to create a tutorial on how I built the nesting box cameras. In fact, in about 5 years, you must be the second person to ask me how I do it... and I'll gladly help you build your system. In fact, I must have made about 15 such cameras for organizations and individuals...

Re: Infrared Bird Box

As you can see in a previous post, I use Bright Pi for the infrared and white LEDs. So, 4 wires to connect on the RPI. No need for resistors to calculate or transistors. By the way, this is not really my specialty.

Re: Infrared Bird Box

Yes it is overkill (a Zero works very well) but the advantage is that when the breeding season is over, you can use it for any other application you want.

Re: Infrared Bird Box

I don't see any problem with all this material. Just in case you're interested, I've done several dozen infrared camera systems in birdhouses for a birding club and others. I use either a Pi Zero W or a PI3. No need for a PI4. It's overkill. Also, for infrared lights, it's a Bright PI module . I hav...

Re: Real world minimum focus distance for 6mm HQ lens

I got this ''auto focus'' NoIr camera but it doesn't work with Rpi Cam Web, my favorite software for nesting. Apart from this program, I have not really tested, having little interest in this function. https://www.arducam.com/product/b0190-arducam-imx219-auto-focus-ir-sensitive-noir-camera-module-dr...

Re: Real world minimum focus distance for 6mm HQ lens

I have both HQ cameras and I remember doing some close-up testing. With both HQ models, I had managed to get a good focus at 15 cm and still much less, which is adequate for a nesting box. By the way, I have a lot of Raspberry cameras in several nesting boxes but I never had the idea to put a HQ cam...

Re: Streaming video from a rover

I have built a tank that offers these features. The interface is Rpi Cam Web and the V2 camera is mounted on a pantilt. The latency is zero but I had to use a PI4. Also, the WiFi on the board is in Access Point mode and a WiFi dongle on the local network. The reason for the AP is that the RomBot can...

3 HD, 3 OS, 1 PC

I have an old PC with three hard drives:
1-Raspberry Pi OS Desktop
2-Ubuntu
3-Mint

All the latest versions.

It boots on Raspberry OS. How do I get a choice of OS on boot? I can't see how to install Grub.

Re: Birdbox camera

the flat tape not perfectly inserted can bring this kind of problem. Also, it can easily move while working on the camera. At worst, it can move enough to make the camera unusable. I have broken several of them. Try this: vcgencmd get_camera If the camera is detected... supported = 1, detected = 1 I...

Re: Will a hard drive magnet attached to the Pi Case cause data corruption issues?

I got two PI3's that use a mobile antenna base magnet as support, one of which has the magnet directly attached to the case. It has been working for a few years without any problem. https://i.servimg.com/u/f54/19/47/02/18/th/2020-110.png https://i.servimg.com/u/f54/19/47/02/18/th/dsc_0810.jpg

I managed to add these buttons but I can't find a way to modify the scripts to make the lights work. He...

FYI Power Supply dead... You can't blame him !

Genuine power supply after two years non-stop, outdoors, in a wood duck nest box, just protected from the elements, -20 to +30 celcius. The Zero W, the NoIr camera and the Bright Pi work perfectly. https://i.servimg.com/u/f54/19/47/02/18/th/2021-034.jpg https://i.servimg.com/u/f54/19/47/02/18/th/202...
