Re: Native WebRTC extension for UV4L now ready!

Is there some documentation of the web socket commands? In the example code I see this: force_hw_vcodec: true, vformat: 30, /* 30=640x480, 30 fps */ trickle_ice: true The documentation shows similar options, but they use different syntax, so I am trying to figure out how to use other commands. Is t...

Since the program is left hanging without moving to the next line, I am assuming it is working but I have no idea how to see the feed. Sorry for another noob question, but form here I should install the streaming server plugin, then access the stream through vlc, correct? With this command: $ sudo ...

Try

Code: Select all

uv4l --driver raspicam --auto-video_nr --width 640 --height 480 --encoding jpeg –tc358743-i2c-dev=/dev/i2c-0 -f --verbosity=8

Re: Auvidea B101

To make the B101 work with UV4L on the Pi Zero is rather simple provided that:: 1. you follow the instructions here *carefully* (which refer to the Rpi3): https://www.linux-projects.org/uv4l/installation/ 2. as opposite to what mentioned for the rpi3 in the doc., you set the: tc358743-i2c-dev = /dev...

good it works, but if authentication was required before and chrome did not need or ask for a password, then either the IP Camera has a problem or chrome has a problem

Re: UV4L and IP camera

it seems you need to provide user and password in the --uri (see the uv4l tutorial to know how to pass them) ? check the full uri is correct by loading it e.g. in a browser and see if you can get a jpeg frame from there.

Re: UV4L and IP camera

You can try to add "--verbosity=8 -f" to the command line to see what happens, and "dd if=/dev/video0 of=img.jpeg bs=1M" to try to capture a single jpg frame.

Re: Stream + Stills

With UV4L you can take Stills while the MJPEG video is in progress. The URL for the Stills tyically is:

https://<ip>:8080/stream/snapshot.jpeg?delay_s=10

where delay_s is a delay in seconds since the HTTP request is made. However, I think the resolution will be the same as the video.

You have to use the uv4l-uvc driver, not raspicam.

I think we can also rule out WebRTC on the Pi, despite the heroic efforts of the uv4l project. It would not likely be performant.
WebRTC is easily made possible on the Pi with UV4L because UV4L implements WebRTC natively and can use hardware acceleration for both H264 decoding and encoding.

I would like to know if the driver that I found on your site are compatible with Raspbian Stretch and Raspberry Pi3 B+ and, in this case, how could I solve this problem.
it should work. Exactly follow the instructions reported there.

Re: rasberri pi 3 and Zero W keeps crashing

uv4l is a program which runs in userspace, like any other programs it cannot provoke any crashes, unless it triggers a bug in the kernel, but then the bug is in the kernel, not in uv4l.

--echo-cancellation=yes|no should turn on and off most of audio post processing (not just aec)

it should have been fixed and effective in the latest release of uv4l

Re: WebRTC peer without a browser

are you sure the webcam is uvc compliant?

in any case, uvc or not uvc, you can make uv4l the kernel driver directly, e.g.:

modprobe uvcvideo (or other video kernel module)

this will register e.g. /dev/video1.

then:

uv4l --external-driver --device-name=video1 --server-option '--port=9000'

You can rely on the information about data channels being opened or closed. uv4l-uvc should not provoke any kernel oops as it's an userspace program. check your power supply is powering the usb webcam properly. that said,if uv4l-uvc gives problems try the kernel driver: modprobe uvcvideo this will register e.g. /dev/video1. then: uv4l --external-driver --device-name=video1 ...
