Re: Using UV4L on a read-only filesystem

You should check which enabled options need UV4L to write to disk (e.g. webrtc statistics). Some options enabled by default might require it to write to ramdisk only (i.e. /tmp or /dev/shm). In any case, there are no "hidden" writings to the fs.

i installed "UV4L Streaming Server" following this link You should carefully read the official UV4L installation instructions for the TC3588743 chip. Some people are successfully using the GoPro with UV4L, see this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=120702&p=1605512&hilit=uv4l...

Re: raspcatbot

Apart from the driver for the Raspberry Pi Camera Board, the following Streaming Server front-end and drivers can be optionally installed: This is not optional, only with this installation uv4l does work in the browser. "optional" means that, with or without the server module installed, UV4L regist...

I've been seriously struggling with this for a long time now, and although I researched the whole topic on this and many more forums and instructions in https://www.linux-projects.org/, I've had no luck. Re: HDMI to CSI-2 TC358743 I2S Audio

- UV4L "black boxes" stuff so that you get a pre-encoded H264 stream, but audio won't work. It's closed source so you're reliant on RpiName who sometimes pops up on here to assist with UV4L. if the audio device is exposed as an alsa/pulseaudio interface by the kernel/os, then it should be possible ...

Re: VNC Retropi

Last time I was working on this, I got as far as just about everything running except I could not control it remotely. I still needed a controller connected to the PI itself. Was there an update that has resolved this or is there a workaround required? See this tutorial: https://www.linux-projects....

Re: Casting RetroPie to laptop display

Does anybody know how I can view my retropie screen, like the menu, games, etc., through VNC? I connected to my pi but i was only able to bring up the terminal but no GUI. I installed VNC using ssh terminal in putty, set the server to :0, and :1, set a password, and cant get anything. Is this possi...

Re: UV4L deletes all /dev/video* and can't pick H.264 stream of the UVC USB camera

Up @RpiName do you know why ffmpeg can take the native H.264 stream of the camera from /dev/video2 and export it as an .MP4 file with the flag -vcodec copy without any issue, but UV4L HTTP streaming server using same system driver V4L2 uvcvideo fails to pick this raw H.264 stream from /dev/video2 (...

Re: UV4L deletes all /dev/video* and can't pick H.264 stream of the UVC USB camera

WTF is that?! This means that when UV4L is running, I can no longer access the other streams with ffmpeg at all, or any other software for that matter. Even worse, from /dev/video4 UV4L decides to point to the 1920×1080 MJPEG stream of the camera* and not its H.264 stream! uv4l does not delete anyt...

Re: uv4l accept/decline calls on Raspberry

The project requires the user on the Raspberry end to be able to accept or decline a call and I was wondering if there is a way to do this. I have looked around in the uv4l config file and can't say I have found a setting related to this (which is not to say isn't there, I might have missed it). I'...

Re: WebRTC peer without a browser

IMHO all these UV4L projects are WebRTC streamer only, exposing a signalling server interface via HTML. This requires the PI to be publicly available on the Internet, which is mostly not possible. It would be good to nothing if this were true. UV4L supports STUN/TURN servers for NAT traversal when ...

there is no such thing as "HTTPS license to buy". Just enable HTTPS according to the doc, if you want/need it.

Were you able to get this to work? I set up the webrtc audio sharing but could only connect one client at a time. You need Janus as a gateway (it can be installed on the same Rpi). There is a paragraph somewhere in the linked page mentioned before showing how to broadcast to a Janus videoroom and t...
