Re: rasberri pi 3 and Zero W keeps crashing

uv4l is a program which runs in userspace, like any other programs it cannot provoke any crashes, unless it triggers a bug in the kernel, but then the bug is in the kernel, not in uv4l.

I have also found that the noise reduction of the WebRTC is enabled - can this be disabled?
--echo-cancellation=yes|no should turn on and off most of audio post processing (not just aec)

it should have been fixed and effective in the latest release of uv4l

$ uv4l --driver-raspicam --auto-video_nr --width 640 --height 480 --encoding jpeg
uv4l --driver-raspicam ? you probably meant "uv4l --driver raspicam"

you can try to disable the TCP candidates generation with the --webrtc-tcp-candidate-policy=0 server option.

Re: WebRTC peer without a browser

are you sure the webcam is uvc compliant?

in any case, uvc or not uvc, you can make uv4l the kernel driver directly, e.g.:

modprobe uvcvideo (or other video kernel module)

this will register e.g. /dev/video1.

then:

uv4l --external-driver --device-name=video1 --server-option '--port=9000'

You can rely on the information about data channels being opened or closed. Please read this first: https://www.linux-projects.org/uv4l/tutorials/webrtc-data-channels/ whenever a webrtc session starts a data channel is open and a connection to the socket mentioned in the above tutorial is made. Re: Using UV4l with uvc and mjpeg streamer help

uv4l-uvc should not provoke any kernel oops as it's an userspace program. check your power supply is powering the usb webcam properly. that said,if uv4l-uvc gives problems try the kernel driver: modprobe uvcvideo this will register e.g. /dev/video1. then: uv4l --external-driver --device-name=video1 ...

I was tasked with setting up a Raspberry Pi as a video streamer that was accessible from a webpage. I used UV4L and it is working with the expected 2-3 second delay. I was wondering if it was possible to purposely increase this delay to 20-30 seconds? For reference we are currently using a Pi 2B, b...

What I can tell is that uv4l does not have any effect on the preview window or on the programs using it if uv4l is not running, even if it is running but you do not access the device in any way.

Deploy the Janus Gateway in your server instead. UV4L supports Janus Videorooms. This should be:

RPI/UV4L <-> Janus Gateway <-> Web Browers.

I did configure the function start() at this line from:
ws = new WebSocket(protocol + '//' + server + '/stream/webrtc');
into:
ws = new WebSocket(protocol + '//' + server);
With that change probably you need to set server-option = --www-webrtc-signaling-path=/
