I'm gonna go back and do a bit more research. I found some useful info elsewhere that might do away with most of these components - I may also have grossly over-estimated the current draw of the screen.....oops!

Guys just a note to let you know that all is sorted now. Turns out the powered usa hub that i was using was the problem. New one purchased last night and all problems cured. On another note..... Xbmc/openelec is unreal!!! Very impressed with it and also that the pi can run it and run it well! thanks...

Hey guys

I installed the new version (10997) and this works much better. However I am still having an issue getting either version to see my USB Ext HDD. The drive is picked up by Debian Squeeze as part of the normal bootup procedure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried 10997 last night but to no avail. Can anyone point a noob in the right direction as to how to get OpenElec see my external drive?

Hi Guys

can anyone tell me why Debian squeeze will see my external drive and install(mount?) it automatically but OpenElec will not. Current version is 10870 but just downloaded 10997 so maybe that will help?

Any chance someone could post a complete image for the new build?? I'm having issues with 10783 locking up. My card reader doesn't seem to want to work with any linux system so I'm limited to using windows atm

Hi guys

I read Gerts post about the various HDMI modes but I cant seem to pull the info from the TV or find the settings in the /boot/config.txt file. I have a 50" plasma and currently the RasPi is only filling half of it!

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do this but I found how to login as root user. Login as normal after startup using pi then raspberry. Instead of typing startx type sudo su.
