Re: Transistor Help

Thanks guys.

I'm gonna go back and do a bit more research. I found some useful info elsewhere that might do away with most of these components - I may also have grossly over-estimated the current draw of the screen.....oops!

Will report soon.

Thanks again

Transistor Help

Hi guys I am aiming to have one 12V power supply bringing power to my RaspPi (via a 7805 reg) and also to a 12V Mini TFT screen. I want to use the 5V on the GPIO header to switch on a transistor to power the TFT but I'm sure I need a resistor between the GPIO header and the transistor. I've picked a...

Re: OpenELEC / XBMC - Ready image

Hey guys

I installed the new version (10997) and this works much better. However I am still having an issue getting either version to see my USB Ext HDD. The drive is picked up by Debian Squeeze as part of the normal bootup procedure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OpenElec + External HDD

Hi Guys

can anyone tell me why Debian squeeze will see my external drive and install(mount?) it automatically but OpenElec will not. Current version is 10870 but just downloaded 10997 so maybe that will help?

Re: OpenELEC + XBMC on Raspberry Pi

Any chance someone could post a complete image for the new build?? I'm having issues with 10783 locking up. My card reader doesn't seem to want to work with any linux system so I'm limited to using windows atm

HDMI Modes

Hi guys

I read Gerts post about the various HDMI modes but I cant seem to pull the info from the TV or find the settings in the /boot/config.txt file. I have a 50" plasma and currently the RasPi is only filling half of it!

Any help for a noob??

Re: whats the root password for debian 19-4-2012

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do this but I found how to login as root user. Login as normal after startup using pi then raspberry. Instead of typing startx type sudo su. This will log you in as root. Now type startx. Mods, if this is inappropriate, please delete! Greg. BTW if you screw up your im...

Re: OpenELEC / XBMC - Ready image

The even bigger problem is that the image is actually just 8GB of (mostly) empty space. As evidenced by the compressed image being little more than 100MB. Yeah, I could live with it unpacking to say 3.5Gb, most of which is fresh air, but taking up 8Gb and being just a bit too big is just plain irri...
