Sorry if dumb question, but is there a way how to access .config file of this kernel?
Same as with any raspbian kernel:

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe configs
zcat /proc/config.gz

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Any idea why I get perfect playback from the browser with HD streams (BBC1 HD for example). Are they using an encoder built into the browser? HD streams are mostly H.264. SD streams are mostly MPEG-2 (but both of these vary with location). Sounds like your browser supports H.264 decode but not MPEG...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

The "Watch TV" button uses the browser's built in video decode support, and most browsers won't support MPEG-2 and possibly not H.264. That means the Pi has to transcode to a format supported by browser (e.g. VP8). Basically don't use that button. The play buttons on individual channels will allow a...

If you want netflix and amazon prime then kodi 18 is what you want. Kodi 18 is currently beta so you want a nightly milhouse build . Read the "Amazon Prime / Netflix / inputstream.adaptive" instructions on the first post of this thread. Kodi 18 should be reaching release in the next couple of months...

The BRANCH=next kernel has now been updated to the 4.19 tree following upstream kernel leaving release candidate state. This has the upstream fix for the recently introduced csum error and switches to the upstream voltage monitor . Note: The downstream /sys/devices/platform/soc/soc:firmware/get_thro...

Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

We are planning to move to the 4.19 kernel in the near future (perhaps a few months). One advantage is there is more raspberry pi specific support in the newer upstream kernels which reduces the number of downstream raspberry pi patches and so reduces maintenance effort. The 4.19 kernel is planned t...

Re: DTS-MA passthrough

Hello, what is the better way to decode DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD. I use a denon x4000 and a 4.1 setup. Should I adjust in kodi 4.1 or 7.1 and the whole mixdown let the reiver take over? It should work fine if you set "number of channels" to 7.1 (and denon will do the downmix from 7.1 to 4.1) or if...

I don't know when the next rpi-update is going to be done, but the fix should be in there. I'll be doing some more testing in the meantime.
Fix should be present in latest rpi-update firmware.

Re: Wake from halt

The GPIO pin is 1 for very early Pi's (model b up to rev1.1) with 26-pin header. It is 3 for all later models.
It deliberately uses an I2C pin as it needs the pull up resistor or else it may falsely trigger with nothing detected.

Can you use the RUN header to reboot?

Re: Inability to dynamically set core clock with recent firmware

Sounds interesting. Probably worth moving this to https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues as it sounds like a firmware issue (need to work out if this is a regression, or whether this can be done a different way). Can you provide files needed to reproduce the problem? (prebuilt arm kernel ima...

You probably need to overclock more to avoid this. Increasing core_freq and sdram_freq may help.

I don't seem to be able to get this to work. With up-to-date Raspbian, kernel 4.14.34-v7+: Always read with "vcgencmd get_throttled 5" If it returns zero then no under-voltage / over-temp has occurred since it was last read. It it returns non-zero then those bits have occurred since last read. But ...

There is an dtparam that can control led behaviour - see https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware ... EADME#L96

It was added March 21, so requires a kernel newer than that date.

Thanks for the information. The link you gave is to poll using vcgencmd get_throttled. How do we poll from the kernel??
The link includes a python file that polled the kernel sysfs file. It looks like this is the location:
/sys/devices/platform/soc/soc:firmware/get_throttled
