Re: Problems with AIY Vision Demo - Arcade button does not light up

If you push the button, does it take a picture? Pictures are put into ~/Pictures Have you done anything to the device like a software upgrade? I did a software upgrade (`apt-get upgrade`) that upgraded the kernel from 4.9.59+ to 4.14.34+ and discovered that I needed to change the permissions and gro...

Re: Raspbian Stretch Release Date?

You can begin the migration by updating /etc/apt/sources.list. You can NOT change /etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list as that's the missing piece. Re: New firmware 4.1.10-v7+ causing crashes on RPi2?

Hi all, I'm only commenting to give my own experience. Until recently I wasn't updating my legacy Raspberry Pi Model B 256MB system as most everything it was doing was running without any issue (I guess I'm now a typical end user). This system keeps track of the temperature inside my house and runs ...

I can confirm that the Belkin wireless mouse USB device appears when you connect a Motorola Lapdock to a raspberry pi, see below when I connect my lapdock: Oct 18 12:09:10 raspberrypi kernel: [1954849.894306] usb 1-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 26 using dwc_otg Oct 18 12:09:10 raspberrypi ke...

Re: When will bash for Raspbian be patched for CVE-2014-6271

The new package (bash_4.2+dfsg-0.1+deb7u1_armhf.deb) was available before you posted, I believe. Have you tried: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Incidentally, I blame the parents in any situation where this bug is exploitable. The whole purpose of bash is to execute arbitrary commands, and...

The dosfstools from the official raspbian repo did not clear the dirty bit. I had to compile the git sources as per the above post and use:

Yes, I was hoping that the stack traces with debug enabled and the kernel messages might help show where the issue is.

Camera hangs using -ex verylong

My camera hung today while using running: raspistill --exif 'Artist=John' -ex verylong -t 1000 -w 1296 -h 972 -q 10 -n -o ~/pic18.jpg I am running a 'debug' version of userland that I cloned and built on 10/1/2013. Re: How to reset the camera?

I can't seem to recreate the "hung camera" issue that I initially encountered when I interrupted raspivid -t 99999 using CTRL-c.

I will continue to monitor the problem.

If I should get another occurrence, is there a way to force some form of memory dump to see what is hung up?

Re: How to reset the camera?

LOL. Yep. Rev 1 GPIO 21 became GPIO 27 on rev 2. Looks like it was a straight swap, so on a rev 2 board the reset port should be 21 as you surmised. FYI, the camera hanging is still an issue for me. I worked around the problem when using raspistill by wrapping the call to raspistill in a sema...

Could be, I used the rev-1 schematic.
I have not checked rev2.
I really need to start reading things more carefully!

Do you really mean GPIO pin 21 instead of pin 27? Looking at the Rev. 2 schematic posted at: http://www.raspberrypi.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Raspberry-Pi-R2.0-Schematics-Issue2.2_027.pdf I found the breakout for camera header where the camera ribbon cable connects, see below: http://www.masser...

Re: How to reset the camera?

It would be great if someone would post the code to reset the camera via the GPIO (or post which GPIO controls the camera power). I just had a problem were the camera got stuck with the red LED on even after I interrupted raspivid. I had to reboot the Pi to get the LED to go out. Actually, the Pi ne...

Re: Motorola Altrix Lapdock loses HDMI video after closing L

I can confirm that closing and the reopening the lapdock does cause the USB to lose power momentarily.

I have a dedicated power supply for my Pi that is connected to the Pi's USB power input. However, if I remove that power connection and then close and reopen my Pi, my Pi will momentarily turn off.

Thanks Gary. I am using the same adapter that you use, however I was using a micro female to micro male HDMI cable that was the source of my problem. Re: Motorola Altrix Lapdock loses HDMI video after closing L

Thanks for all your help. Your suggestion to try 1280x720 worked. That is DMT mode 85. I beginning to suspect that my HDMI cable and required adapter may not be able to handle the slightly additional bandwidth required for 1366x768. All in all, the 1280x720 doesn't look too bad. Sorry for the 'newbie" question, but is the source code for edidparser or any of the other utilities in the /opt/vc/bin directory?
