Re: MyPi - New iOS App for Home Automation projects

This is broken. Please fix it or remove it from the app stores. You're making us loose our time. Thanks.

p.s. RuntimeError: Bad magic number in .pyc file on both RaspberryPi 1 and 2.

Sound fade in/out effect

Hi all,
I'm trying to add a fade in/fade out effect (1-2 seconds) on sound at a system level. I'm using it headless with a hifiberry dac. Any ideas on how to implement this? I find the abrupt stop/start in sound a bit disturbing.
Thanks.

Re: Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

My DAC is ready :)

It works perfect, using the IQ DAC drivers. Couldn't get it to work with the Hifiberry ones. And didn't spend much time on it.

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

I've already build a hat for missing stuff:

Must be installed from underside, using pogo pins. USB cutout to allow for flush fit of nano wifi adapters. External power solves the issue of having the PS cable on the long side.

You could add more of course.

Re: Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

personally though I wouldnt use the GPIO for the power though, I'd recommend using the pp1&6 for power. although, if you do that, you may want to add a 5v regulator How about now? http://i.imgur.com/z0ZZYAR.png I moved the composite to the right, and added a power input on the 5V line. Re: Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

Damn! Yes, I did mess it up. Made it again correctly here: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/7WN6C4dF Anyway, even like that it's usable. Just snap the 3.3V pin coming from the Pi, then make a solder blob on both 5V&3.3V on the shield side connector :) I was working on another hat for the Zero whe...

Re: Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

Ok, managed to make something. This is a breakout board for USB/Reset/Composite. Looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/2IFp2zR.png I recessed the USB to accommodate for nano wifi adapters. This way they'll be flush and you could keep the form factor. I uploaded the project on OSHpark: https://oshpark....

Re: Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

Wow, great guys! Thank you so much!

I plan on making a shield (with extras) with pogo pins that touch those pads (USB D+ & D- ) mounted from the underside of the Zero.
That way I can add a normal size USB connector on the shield, and put the wifi dongle in it :) No adapters this way.

Need some dimensions for RPi Zero

Hello all, I seem to be in need for some precise measurements. Maybe someone with a Zero can help me out? I need the dimensions that I noted in picture below. Basically the dimensions from the left side and upper side to both the golden pads. http://i.imgur.com/1A4vLbS.png And no, I can't find them,...

RPi + esp8266 = what speed?

Hello all,

I was thinking if it's possible to add wireless possibility to any Raspberry Pi Zero not using the USB.
I saw that many people rave about esp8266.
What would the actual transfer speeds be with such a chip? What would be the limiting factors?

Re: BMP180 pressure sensor math

Ah, ok.
I'll have a look at it and see what's what.
So far I've managed to map the absolute pressure/temp on a graph and try and see from there what's happening.
Thank you.

BMP180 pressure sensor math

Hello all, I just got a Raspberry Pi 2 and dug out an older BMP180 sensor. I want to make a weather prediction station and I'm having some issues with the Adafruit example code. I think it's been designed to be flown into planes. The code also seems to calculate the altitude based on pressure and te...

Re: Looking for audio player software, need help!

Any idea why Shairport is 16/44.1 only? Linn Softcast has the same limit.
I don't understand how Raspberry software can serve network files at 24/96 but these two pieces of software that happen to be very convenient are limited to the same bitrate of 16/44.1.

Not all of them, but I do have 24/96, lots.
And also there are online sources with high quality sound.

Re: Looking for audio player software, need help!

Seems like Shairport is the thing that I need, and it works with HostingAU.
Now, sadly, Shairport is limited to 16bit/44.1KHz sample rate.
Anything that goes 24bit / 96KHZ, or at least 24 bit /48KHz?

Looking for audio player software, need help!

Hello, I am looking for a kind of audio player that should theoretically exist. To be honest, I really don't understand how and why this kind of software is not existing (or at least haven't found it yet). So basically I looking to send the audio from my laptop to my Raspberry. Sure, with this broad...
