Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Hi, Would it be possible to enable in further updates to kernel 4.19 CAKE packet scheduler? # find /lib/modules/ | grep -c sch_cake 0 # uname -r 4.19.42-v7+ I have a little bit info about CAKE. I've just tried to compile the CAKE module myself. The module itself could be cooked. However, I still ca...

I recently bought a Pi Zero WH, it has GPIO pins soldered on.

Don't know if it's official. It works.

Yes, there is. It's called Raspbian Lite.

You could download it from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Greetings. I'd like to report that I meet a bug in the apt-get 4.14 kernel: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201483

The fix is in https://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg530560.html and already applied into the mainline kernel.

Currently, a rpi-update 4.14 kernel would fix the problem.

Re: Installation of mono-complete package caused R Pi to freeze, and now "apt" mechanism seems to be stuck in a loop

Greetings.

I recently installed Mono on a Pi 3B either. I meet this issue either.

However, it's not locked. Keep patient, and wait, it would done.

Maybe more memory would help, so you could try "apt install" in CLI, no GUI.

Re: Raspberry Pi receiving UDP

About the latency, my GUESS is that the Linux pipe buffer is a problem.

The "|" between raspivid and avconv contains a buffer. I don't know its size nor how to change its size.

Well, I'm happy it's working anyway.

Re: Raspberry Pi receiving UDP

However no video picture shows up on the receiving rpi. I used ffmpeg -i, because -i in ffmpeg means "input". According to https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/raspbian/applications/omxplayer.md In omxplayer, -i means "info". So maybe you could just try "omxplayer udp://address:port". No -i Ca...

Re: Raspberry Pi receiving UDP

224.0.0.2 is a special multicast address (as are many of the others in 224.0.0.0/24). For your own stuff you might be better choosing something in 239.255.0.0/16 (although if your on a corporate/education network talk to the network guys first as there might be policies in place about address usage...

Re: Why is it so difficult to install PHP 7.2 in RPi3?!

Most packages in Raspbian come from Debian from which it is derived. When Debian updates a package that eventually finds it's way into Raspbian. Packages get updated by their package maintainers who are generally volunteers. The maintainers build the package and test it before it goes into use. So ...

Re: Sandisk Ultra problem

I read the label said A1 cards could handle more random IO.

So even it's more capable, but still not enough for an OS usage. Nor for an warranty to run OS.

I guess I see it more clearly. Thanks.

Re: Why is it so difficult to install PHP 7.2 in RPi3?!

I see that they have a new version of Node.js in Raspberry Foundation's repository.

Don't know how they decide which package could get update in this way.

PHP is quite like Node.js, I think.

I believe Web is changing(advancing) too fast these days, reinventing too much wheels.

So booting an OS is different than running an application? I don't quite get their points.

CPU works in different privilege mode, how could SD card know this?

Anyway SD cards are cheap, warranty is dispensable.

Greetings. Are you asking this: There is an NAS serving files to multiple clients concurrently. I use a headless setup, so not sure about the exact steps. But essentially, you need a Chinese font, an input method framework(daemon), and an actual input method. I don't like this this thread. It says /usr/local/bin, so the OP compiled his own version of fail2ban and some bad thing blow up, and he said nothing about it. And his solution is "rm" the main executable file, again with no explanation. I think the right solution should be getting a fresh new Raspb...
