Hi Dougie,

That fixed it! Many thanks for persisting with a beginner. I appreciate it.

Re: python subprocess module appears to be broken

hi there,

/root/subprocess.py is a script I was running previously. It's a script that has been moved and no longer exists. that's my point... I really don't understand WHY the error message (which, again appears to be a cached error) is coming up. when I enter the python sp_testing.py command.

Re: python subprocess module appears to be broken

Hi there, I am still getting the error. I've made some amendments to the code as per the previous suggestion. Here is how it looks now: #!/usr/bin/env python import subprocess def execute_script(): arg_list = [ '/bin/echo', 'hello world' ] args = ' '.join(arg_list) proc = subprocess.Popen(arg_list, ...

Problems with the pi and external USB soundcards

Hi there, I'm trying to get a live stream on a raspberry pi working through an external USB soundcard, connected to a mic. I am coming across some problems. Essentially the stream (and the recording of the stream) have a persistent drumbeat type noise as a background noise. If I unplug the mic the s...

Re: Battery / non mains power recommendations for the pi

Hi everyone, Thanks all for your very comprehensive responses. The device does pull a bit of power due to: 1) The 3g dongle pulling quite a bit of power. (it does actually work without issue directly plugged into the pi). 2) The load average on the box to transcode and stream the mp3. 3) The USB sou...

Battery / non mains power recommendations for the pi

Hi all, I am building a small project with a raspberry pi version B with a USB soundcard and a mic plugged in, that runs icecast and darkice to stream a low fi radio stream connected via a 3g dongle. I would like to place the pi in a waterproof box and place it in various unusual spots without acces...

Re: Pi Presents: A display package for museums & visitor cen

Hi Ken,

The instructions contained in the manual in section 5.4 and 5.5 worked fine. Thank you.

What I'm actually after is for the video to run in a seamless loop. There seems to be a 25 second delay between the loop. any clues as to how to avoid this?

Re: Pi Presents: A display package for museums & visitor cen

G'day Ken, I've been playing with your pipresents software for a week or so now and love it! Many thanks for building and sharing it with the world. I am doing some work with a local artist who presents video work here in Adelaide Australia and just need a way to loop a single or multiple video trac...
