Re: Let's Encrypt not working after installation

You're missing the rewrite rules in your virtual host config file for https://videobyzachary.tk

Code: Select all

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{SERVER_NAME} =videobyzachary.tk
RewriteRule ^ https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [END,QSA,R=permanent]

I know this is dated post, but I'm responding for posterity. This issue may be resolved by running the application as root.

Code: Select all

sudo ./appname
.
If your userid is in the dialout group (like pi is) then sudo won't be needed.

Why not WiFi? You could have an RPi3 running http://piwall.co.uk and a WiFi access point as a private wireless LAN.

If you need to parse HTML or XML, you'll need to use BeautifulSoup4.

Re: Timed Out Waiting For Device During Boot

It means the UUID/PARTUUID in your /etc/fstab doesn't match the ID on your /boot partition. You're probably not going to be able to fix it with the emergency console. So you'll need a new SDCard, a copy of Raspbian, a copy of Etcher (to write Raspbian to the new SDCard) and a USB reader. Boot the ne...

What's your keyboard layout? Is it a UK keyboard?

Try typing the password in the userid box (only so you can see what comes out and whether any keys on your keyboard generate the wrong code).

What security does your 2.4GHz network use? Raspbian will only see WPA/WPA2 networks, it ignores WEP.

Re: Move ssh key to other builds?

The reason it's not a good idea is that if one system gets compromised then all systems sharing the keys are compromised. That's the flaw Raspbian have attempted to solve by generating new keys on first boot.

You'll need unixodbc.

Try searching google for "raspberry unixodbc mssql site:raspberrypi.org" to find lots of old posts about doing that.

Re: RPi 3B+ gives troubles via DVI monitor connection, 2B does not

Add hdmi_safe=1 to /boot/config.txt and that should work. Once you've got it working you can ask your system to tell you what modes it can use with your DVI monitor. tvservice -m DMT tells you that. You can then hard code a working mode (there's an option in sudo raspi-config to do that). Docs here:...

If in doubt, then the "file" command will generally detect what the actual content of a file is.
That's because it reads and decodes the magic numbers.

Re: Move ssh key to other builds?

That's the reason my changes to ssh_config are qualified with the LAN address range. I'm relying on the firewall in the LAN's router to prevent any MitM attack for the benefit of less pain with known_hosts.

Re: Raspberry pi doesn't connect to internet

When you did the traceroute to www.google.com the DNS returned an IPv4 address. When you try to ping www.google.com the DNS returns an IPv6 address. Why? Beautiful question! Because ping does both a type=A and type=AAAA query against the DNS when you give it a domain name rather than a dotted decim...

So ignore the error or use a touch ~/AIY-projects-python/requirements.txt command to create an empty file.
