Re: Can't connect my Raspberry Pi Zero W to my house router.

Make sure the access point is using WPA or WPA2 (NOT WEP) security. It's a pain in the tail to configure WEP (which is 100% insecure anyway).

Re: Multiple scripts on Pi

What language are you using? Python has a signal handler, you can use a kill -usr1 $(pidof pythonprogramname) [ or -usr2 ] to send a command. But it's probably better, easier, simpler to get the scripts that need signalling to subscribe to an MQTT topic, you can then easily publish a MQTT message wh...

I've got two of these http://www.verbatimstore.com/product/?sku=97472 with a US layout. They're cheap and cheerful and work with all of my Raspberries.

Do you have control of the printing?
If you do use OCR-B which is optimised for machine reading.

Re: SQlite permissions not enough for execution

Read only is a status of SQLite that's unrelated to file permissions. The easy way to get in that status is two tasks attempting to write to one database.

sqlite3 original.db ".dump" | sqlite3 good.db
mv original.db broken.db
mv good.db original.db

Re: how to allow user to change eth0 settings but not wlan0 settings

What aspect of the eth0 settings do you want to change? Why do you think you need to change them? It's often easier to do fixed addresses in your router's configuration pages rather than on your RPi.

What's your keyboard layout? Have you changed the password from "raspberry"? Does your password include any special charactters like quotes (") or at-sign (@)?

Re: Delete pi user in Raspbian

Crude and ugly way is sudo nano /etc/passwd; sudo nano /etc/group; sudo nano /etc/shadow;
Change pi to your new ID in those three files then reboot.

If you use the GUI you'll need to muck about with the lightdm autologin stuff.

Nginx is good for reverse proxy. I don't thing lighttpd can do that.
I've never tried a reverse proxy with Lightty (I always find Lightty very hard to configure). I know it works with Apache2 and NGinx.

As before viewtopic.php?p=1259422#p1238119 go and create an issue on Github. If the developers don't know about your bug they will never fix it.

Re: Raspi 3 with the wemos d1 mini OLED screen?

Wemoses are like bicycles, raspberries and guitars. The number of wemoses you need is always the number you've got plus one. At a cost of £3.28 with some weeks of lead time, that isn't a big problem. I've already got two of the wee beasties.

Can you post your Arduino sketch?

You can't run the IDE serial monitor while you're running the python program.

Re: Raspi 3 with the wemos d1 mini OLED screen?

Use the Wemos USB serial interface. Or use Wemos WiFi. I've got one that gets a message from MQTT and displays it on a 16x2 HD44780 LCD (with an I2C PCF8574 interface). Sending data via GPIO (unless you use TX/RX on your RPi to RX/TX on your Wemos) is going to be harder than it needs to be. WiFi is ...
