Ah, your resolver can't resolve AAAA addresses.

You can test that stuff with
sudo apt install dnsutils
dig AAAA ipv6.google.com
dig AAAA google.com
dig A google.com
dig A www.bbc.co.uk

Re: Raspi in ipv6 environment can't reach outside world

So if you can't reach the public internet the problem doesn't lie on your Raspberry. It's on the gateway/router device.

Can you ping6 to your gateway address?

Is that 2a00::1 address one end of a IPv4/IPv6 tunnel?

A raspberry pi would be perfect for someone doing a computer science degree.
Because that's, precisely, the reason the Raspberry Pi exists. Cambridge Uni found that the CS101 students hadn't had enough experience with single board computers or with computers that were easy to program.

Re: Need help to make an hostapd AP on an RPI2 Raspbian Stretch

That's the problem that "predictable network names" was trying to solve. That would build wlx00c0ca96d88b & wlxb827eb1e5652 with no mucking about with udev rules needed. Move a dongle from one RPi to another and the wlx???????? name moves with it. That allows me to use a single /etc/dhcpcd.conf file...

How about an airline sick bag with a Raspberry logo? So that we're ready for the next time that wibbly wobbly sick making things are planted on the home page. Seriously, the best swag I ever got (from BMC Software) is a keyring with bottle opener. https://www.wedunit.com.au/19005-large_default/perso...

You do NOT need a heatsink on a 3B+. No matter what you're running, they're purely cosmetic.

I don't think so, as it's constantly decoding the mode-S and ADS-B messages from any aircraft in view. It's a CPU hog. The USB RTL-SDR is a power hog (it don't half run hot).

Sensortype needs to be a simple string: SENSORS = [DHT11, DHT22, AM2302]

You can read the code at: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Py ... /common.py

Re: Setting register bit

Benno, You're not going to be able to just write one bit, the smbus "write_byte_data" method expects you to write at least one byte...hence the name of the method. Furthermore, it looks like your device expects more than one byte. Yes you can. Read the register first. Use logicial OR to set a bit. ...

That's an improvement, you're past the authentication error. You now need to ensure that your userid is allowed to make remote connections and can access your "temp1" database.

Re: New SSD

You may want to boot a GParted Live CD on your laptop, plug in the USB drive and shrink the partitions down to the nearest MB over their used space. That will make the copy run quicker as you won't be reading/writing lots of X'00's. You could do that with a Raspberry booted from an SDCard with GPart...

Re: A new level of seasickness

That stuff doesn't make the website any prettier or any easier to use, it just increases the load time for no apparent benefit (and is therefore 100% pointless). If I can adblock the Javascript I'll do that, else I'll have to look at coding a Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey script to knacker it.

Since it's still using the old sysvinit stuff you need to run
sudo update-rc.d motion defaults
sudo update-rc.d motion enable

that should get it running a boot time.
