Thanks for such a speedy response. I'm glad I can just use this directly as this way I don't have wait for something else to be delivered.

Where are the pi specs documented by the way? That way I can avoid having to trouble you with questions like this in the future.

I have an ESC that has a UBEC that provides 3A at 5.25V. Would it be okay to power my pi from this? Or is the 5.25V slightly too high?

That is probably because the derivative term essentially acts as a prediction. So when your robot starts to tilt, the derivative gets larger. The problem is that you subtract it rather than add it so it ends up acting in the wrong direction making the error worse.

Your code looks fine except for the dTerm being subtracted as you pointed out. This should definitely be added not subtracted, changing this should help.

There is no real difference between your code and the other code you linked to, it is just storing the data differently in a class.

I thought that the ATTINY was not programmable by the user? Or does this only apply to the ones going up on the ISS?

The ones that will fly will be in a stack themselves, we have an RTC board which goes on first and then the Astro Pi goes on top. In the original blog post (http://www.raspberrypi.org/astro-pi/) it mentions that the Astro-Pi HAT will have a real time clock with backup battery. Has this been changed...

I can't provide a straight answer to this at the moment. We're getting some of the final boards back in the next few weeks but those are going to be consumed by developers, space companies who need to test them and promotional partners. Thanks for your reply, the culprit was not my router, but my NAS box! It was using UPnP to open port 80 for its self. I disabled this and now I can see apache on my pi (although its weird that I couldn't see the NAS box admin interface before)
