Re: RPIServers to try out!

1Amp is referring to peak usage. However it is not hard limited to 1Amp.
Only time it gets hard limits (breaker) is when you get to 15Amps and above.

Re: RPIServers to try out!

Actually if you check out the site https://aliendata.com. My rackspace is only $10 per U. The price of $10 per U per month seems very good and makes the Pi cloud much more practical. Do you know how much power and bandwidth comes with that? So the power/connection/rackspace is all configurable. If ...

Re: RPIServers to try out!

I agree with the network booting. I am testing that out to see how well it goes. I've been thinking about general viability of providing single-tenant Pi 4B servers as you are doing and understood Typical 2U colocation is at least US $60 per month. It is possible to squeeze 24 Pi's, a switch, power...

I too want to see it more automated. Kinda bad part is standard VPS is much more powerful/cheaper than say a dedicat...

Re: RPIServers to try out! Questions

Hi. What's the cooling situation on these Raspberry Pi 4's you have in the cloud. Are they likely to throttle? if not do you support overclocking? I would plan on using these for hobbyist applications like AI projects or Math Programs (like from Project Euler) so downtime would not affect me as muc...

Hi guys

I am interested in renting some Raspberry Pi 3/4 for an education program

Do you know if Raspberry Pi Fundation or retailers are willing to do it in Italy?

Re: RPIServers to try out!

Thank you for the heads up. :D
As far as the server goes all storage will be "local" meaning built into the server.
I have a SSD Storage server I am working on for use on something like this as well.

Re: RPIServers to try out!

The nice thing is the DC I am at is manned 24/7 So even with their being on physical sd cards. There is still someone there to swap them out when needed.
I will be testing out a network booting version depending on how well this does?
So far it's not going as well as I thought it would. :?

Re: RPIServers to try out!

Are there guarantees on uptime? Not at this moment. Most of all systems are redundant however nothing is 100% guarantee up. Even Amazon cannot claim 100% up time. Since I've put the RPIs at the DataCenter I've only had one outage due to a fiber cut. (Dump truck took out the telephone pole.)...
