Re: Frame synchronisation

Yes, it's posted in 'squished aspect ratio' side-by-side stereo, then, at display time, youtube let you select your favorite stereo rendering (anaglyph, side-by-side, interlaced, top-bottom, off, ...) by clicking on the 3D button. I guess the flickering is reduced by the youtube compression, but it'...

Re: Frame synchronisation

Hi, Here's a quick video captured with two PIs and two cameras for stereo 3D: http://youtu.be/S61ktNCexwg Both cameras driven with a modified version of raspivid blocking before the capture command: MMAL_PARAMETER_CAPTURE The cameras are triggered using a physical switch wired to a GPIO pin on each ...

Re: Flash sync possible with the camera module?

Actually, I don't think the sensor flash sync is wired up. It would have to be done from the GPU, which has the timings anyway, at least for something like an LED flash. Zenon might not be feasible. Either way, it requires a new flash driver to be written that pings a GPIO up and down at the right ...

Re: Flash sync possible with the camera module?

do it the other way guys create a bit of hardware that launches a flash and sets the camera to output an image on a button press and set the timings so it works how you want it .... We can't do that reliably either because you don't know when the picture is going to be taken, and there's no signal ...

Re: Flash sync possible with the camera module?

This is just tragic if the elements are there and just not turned on in some proprietary firmware. There are so many machine vision and instrumentation applications that depend on flash sync. And before anyone reminds us that the purposes are educational, synced cameras are key elements of embedded...

Re: New features for raspistill command

It doesn't need any changes to raspistill or raspivid for you to do that - you could (for example) use a python script to monitor the GPIO line, then us an os call to send the raspistill command. Texy That's a first approximation, and I'll try that. But I need something close to a genlock capabilit...

Re: New features for raspistill command

Would it be possible to have an option to trigger the camera (in still or video mode) from a pin of the GPIO ?
I'd like to synchronize several cameras.

Also, is there an C/C++ API in the works, instead of the command line tools ?

Thanks,

Luc
