I do not know exactly how to compile v4l-boblight the raspberry is installed rasbian. I am a beginner to work in Linux, but I'm learning :idea:

I just compiled boblight-v4l on my pi and it seems to work oob with a v4l device (ps3 eye). I don't have the capture hardware yet so can't test the if the grabber works with it but I guess this is the easier way to go... ...could I ask for a link on how to install boblight-v4l to Rasperry. have you guys seen this? http://hackaday.com/2013/08/05/no-computer-ambilight-clone-uses-a-computer/#more-100530 looks like a must have for me :) It is super, also prefer to go to this solution ... I just needed to for LED strip ws2801. There is some more information about the forum or the solution...

managed to get things set up and following the instructions, I've only been able to get one led lit up. Can anyone help? struggling here lol When only one LED is lit, the error in the installation or error in boblight.conf. Also, it took me some time before I found out how to properly install file ...

Hello everybody ! That a fantastic project and I really love the way you manage it all together :) So, I bought a led string (50x WS2801) and a PSU (5V 3A) in order to get the ambilight system on my TV. My roommate made some tries but he seems to have fried the Pi this weekend ... (see my post here...

...unfortunately, I also have the same experience. Led strip should reverse the connection wires (+ black and - red), but the power wires correctly. I have not checked it, it was raspberry polarity and is destroyed :( :evil:
