Re: USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

I don't know if you're still out there rook92, or whether you're still interested in getting your wacom tablet working with your Pi? Anyhow, I have some good news for you - if you download and install the latest version of Raspbian from the foundation's page (just go to the Downloads section of the ...

Re: [GUIDE] Raspberry Lite with LXDE GUI

Hey, GhostRaider - in a magnificent instance of synchronicity, you have posted this brilliant guide at just the moment that I went looking for it! This worked wonderfully for me on Jessie Lite; it has saved a huge amount of space on my SD card, and was faster than deleting packages from the standard...

Re: Pi-Top

Just to say thanks to neuralassembly for posting the pi-top ( pitop ) Hub pinout - I eventually found this on the forum by using a google site: search - no trace of pi-top on the pi forum when just using the forum's built-in search tool for some reason - searching on "pitop" works, but misses posts ...

Many thanks for posting this link! I've no idea how you found this official schematic tho'.

I've also just found an earlier post on this forum where the pi-top ( pitop ) Hub pinout was described in helpful detail: viewtopic.php?p=850719#p850719

Re: Mac OSX

Whilst it's true that one can't run Mac OS X on a Pi, the Mac's underlying OS is a UNIX variant known as Darwin which is somewhat open, and there is an effort to port Darwin to ARM. This port is unlikely to be what you're after tho'. Have a look at this earlier thread from last year where the same q...

Re: PicoBoard not connecting

Dear Gerhard Many thanks for your reply to this query - thanks to you I've got my ScratchBoard running again - versions of Scratch on the Pi prior to nuScratch seemed to pick up the device automatically, and I'd been puzzled by my inability to get the latest versions of nuScratch to work with the Sc...

Re: USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

Hi rook92, well, that's a good start! You've got the Linux Wacom project code that you need. Now, we just need to get you the linux kernel code and we can get the wacom driver built. Now, did you follow the rest of my instructions in my last post (the one from Sun Dec 13, 2015 11:18 pm)? Specificall...

Re: USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

Hello again rook92 - glad you're sticking with it! It looks like you've got the only file you need from the Linux Wacom Project, which is the file called input-wacom-0.30.1.tar.bz2 You can get rid of the other files that you've downloaded from the Linux Wacom Project. Now, you need to unpack the inp...

Re: USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

Ok rook92, I'm happy to help, but I need to know more specifically what your confusion is. There's no doubt that compiling a linux kernel module isn't the easiest thing to do as a new linux user, however if you can work your way through this you'll learn a lot! I'm afraid that all this is necessary ...

Re: USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

OK, my problem with rpi-source has been fixed with a simple sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade! There were new versions of libssl1.0.0 and openssl waiting for me, and with these installed rpi-source runs as expected, so no need for the kludgey edit mentioned above! I'm afraid that the reci...

Also, just to add one further change since I posted my updated build instructions - the Linux Wacom Project has updated its driver code - I've just downloaded the latest version - input-wacom-0.30.1.tar.bz2 - and the configure issues that I mentioned in my post at the top have now been resolved! USB Wacom tablets with Raspbian Jessie

I've previously posted instructions on how to build the linux wacom project's wacom kernel driver for Raspbian - https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=8709&hilit=wacom - with the recent upgrade to Jessie, I found that my previously compiled Wacom tablet kernel no longer worked. Re: Graphics Tablet with the pi?

I've had a quick look at the latest linux wacom tablet project drivers - input-wacom-0.28.0.tar.bz2 - and I see that there have been some changes to the configure script which have broken the configure process. The current script claims that the kernel source isn't installed, whereas in fact it is. ...

Hi aquzanis, To get your wacom tablet working on your pi you'll need to compile the kernel driver from the WacomLinux Project - the Raspbian repository doesn't contain the necessary kernel driver I'm afraid. All the steps that you need to follow are explained in this forum thread: http://www.raspber...

Just to say that I've managed to get a Wacom Bamboo usb tablet working with TuxPaint on the Pi - this sounds like the kind of thing you were interested in doing, and although in no sense GPU accelerated, this setup works really nicely, and I've found it really useful for younger children. Others have...
