+1 on Alex's posts.

If you are interested in using Lipo batteries then I suggest you search for 'lipo fire' on Youtube to see what happens when they are not correctly looked after. I keep mine outdoors.

I think that rmm200's suggestion above of initially shipping 100 as as an acceptance batch sounds like a good idea under the circumstances. Get them out to some techie guys to play with for a week to see if we discover any other anomalies. You can't afford a recall of 10,000 units.

Re: RS Components

I received my RS email on Saturday evening at 23:59 but my email reader won't show me the headers so I don't know what that timestamp refers to. However, I think it was Thursday that I registered, so perhaps the emails are sent out in a non-sequential way.

Re: RS Components

Wow! RS has finally confirmed my registration of interest. I think that I'll also register with Farnell just to be sure though. I wonder how many people have registered/ordered from both ... hence defeating the principle of one-per-person?

<t>I still can"t decide whether this is supposed to the thing going on sale or yet another delaying tactic. There"s no mention of "sale", simply that there will be an announcement. It had better go on sale soon "cos if it clashes with the ipad3 launch then my money is on Apple getting the attention ...

For ventilation you need a solar-powered window opener. Go to Amazon and seach for: greenhouse window opener.

Many thanks for the update and a concrete not-before date. Now I can set a diary reminder for the 19th and come back then, rather than having to check this site and the shop every day in case you've decided to soft-launch it
