Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Controller) Advanced

Hi jamesh, Safety in general in PLCs is a very serous and difficult to implement. Unfortunately we are not using Safety at all in our CODESYS enabled PLCs. But it is something we must do soon or later. It is interesting though if you have any progress on openSafety to give us a post here. Sorry not ...

how it is with openSafety implementation on raspberry? Your URL is not working. Is this project on some oter URL? Hi jamesh. Safety on PLC is very difficult matter (that is S stands for). Strict rules must apply. But you already know that. Do you relay want Safety? (a rhetorical question it is of c...

Hi guys, 1 - STRATON looks a very promising package. I wrote to them to have some price quotas. 2 - CODESYS remains (at the moment) top of the list for Raspberry Pi 3 - BEREMIZ stil is a choice. It is working on Raspberry . FREE and OPEN SOURCE 4 - 4DIAG (https://www.eclipse.org/4diac/en_help.php?he...

In this moment none of our boards can't be driven by CODESYS because of this problems with drivers what I wrote before. I tried CODESYS forum, but there is only basic support, eg. Hi VikTan What is your status of the I/O boards? I am very mach interesting on them CODESYS drivers or not You can cont...

On top of what :@ranpitime suggested I use a lot Berghof's EtherCat modules for industrial use (ECC DIO / ECC AIO). https://www.berghof-automation.com/en/products/controller-plc/compact-plc/io-extensions/ba-ecc-dio-1616/ It is the cheapest Input output EtherCat module in the market . Hi vitag. What is actually the status of your board now? Did you see thiagoralves openplc project? http://www.openplcproject.com/ Looks very nice solution with this BEREMIZ (plcopen) editor + plcopen soft PLC. Do you think you can make your board compatible with this? On the top of the CODESYS drive...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

thiagoralves Is right. Safety needs a lot of attention and this is not a simple thing. IT IS SAFETY and this is what it must deliver. To do that as thiagoralves said Once I realize that the OpenPLC is stable, I will start building the "SecurePLC" on top of that . My main job is working in Automatio...

I'm trying to work with the Beremiz project for a while. It is really a very nice project. However, the lack of documentation is slowing me down considerably. I still can't understand how to integrate the OpenPLC code with the Beremiz editor. But I haven't given up yet. I'll let you guys know once ...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

Yes @by Rotule CAN bus on Raspberry is very good but an industrial PLC uses CANopen to communicate with inverters drives I/Os and so on. CODESYS needs CANopen. This high level protocol is important and I think there is one CANopen stack open source (http://www.canfestival.org) that can implemented. ...

Hello @abishur I hope you remember me when I started the the back in 2011. CODESYS is not a SCADA program (includes of course a module to make HMI visualizations ). Re: OpenPLC and Graphical Programming with Rasberry PI

I am in the process of developing an input/output function block that will initially read and write the GPIOs on the RPi. When this is finished I aim to publish it through the 4DIAC project. Incidentally, 4DIAC also has function blocks for Lego Mindstorms. Hi @higgins-demack Do you have some more i...
