Generating Clcoks on GPIO

Please does anyone know of a documented way of (h/w) generating clocks on a GPIO line. I am looking for a clean binary even m-s ratio at a constant 4.096 MHz or thereabouts independent of any software activity (apart from to start it up) but I could take 8.192 MHz and divide it to make it 50:50. I w...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 USB mass storage beta

There was no hardware history of issues but I did try another keyboard, I believe that as all issues disappeared when I used "SD Card Copier" on raspbian create the T5 USB drive from the live 5.4 on SD and that this is a software issue. I did not see any indication that this was a hardware issue. Wh...

18.04.4 LTS Kubuntu @uhd problem

I've been trying out pi4 14.04 LTS Kubuntu for a few weeks. Booting from SD, Running from USB 3, Updates OK (It figured out what was where by itself) Linux cd4k 5.3.0-1019-raspi2 #21~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 17 18:03:27 UTC 2020 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux System seems stable but ip audio is...

Re: RPi4 Resolution Incompatibility

My request is specifically for 3440x1440 / UW-QHD / 21:9 devices.
The term 4k is supposed to refer to cinema 4k format devices.
Though it is now widely accepted (when misused) to include UHD TVs.
"3440x1440 / UW-QHD / 21:9" is not a UHD/4k TV
e.g. Look at LG 34WL750 34" WQHD IPS Ultrawide Monitor

Thanks for that info. Is there a list?
Would you know if that included LG 34WL750?

Re: RPi4 Resolution Incompatibility

@jamesh
Can you please confirm if this issue is fixed in the current download page firmware.
I.e. does pi4 work "out of the etcher" with 3440x1440 / UW-QHD / 21:9 monitors e.g Samsung.
This and other raspberrypi.org search outcomes seem ambiguous on the matter.

Re: Anyone tried ZFS on Pi 4 or planning to do so?

I have zfs installed on pi4 and testing with 2 ssd mirror for 2 weeks. It seems to work. Have had 200GB plus read/write. There is a problem with reboot or cold start whereby the ssd come up both "FAULTED". However next cold start may come up OK and online. Does anyone have USB3 problems intermittent...

Is zfs a reason for needing 64bit?

Re: [SOLVED] Unable to USB boot 64bit OS - Grub only has (memdisk)

Does the arrangement with Ubuntu you describe above handle apt updates generally correctly?
What happens if Ubuntu issue a kernel update themselves presumably that will overwrite your kernel?

Re: Ubuntu Server 18.04 arm64 on RPi3B+

Thank you for the reply.
I have not found the examples for booting from that wiki actually work with the ISO-install/18.04.1/arm64/pi3b+ combination.

Unfortunately the rest of the reply relates to raspi2 which is armhf.
and I am trying to boot an arm64 installation.

When you say it doesn't boot into Ubuntu server, do you mean you can't get the installed system to run, or do you mean you can't get the installer to run? I wrote the instructions you are following so it would really help if you could be a bit more descriptive in what you've done and what you are s...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS for ARM64 suddenly stops booting with failure to write sector to hd0, warning at bcm2835_sdhost.c:4

If I understand you correctly, you have come up with a work around to solve: -install arm64 18.04 ubuntu server from the iso(?), -modify whatever is necessary e.g. copy stuff from raspbian latest (?) and -then to patch to get it to boot on a pi3b+ -from SD card if I read the previous post? (+usb?) a...
