Interesting, yes it is definitely the Kingston class 10's I have are the issue. The class 4's including a new one work just fine!

Re: apt-get update fails after upgrade

Actually nothing with apt-get will work. apt-get is throwing a segmentation fault so apt-get clean wont work either.. Finally think I have got to the bottom of it !! Pulled another raspi B3 off duty to compare with as I was starting to think it was the Rpi but I think its the SD card. Was using two ...

Re: Ways to reduce power usage?

Get a model A+, a MUCH bigger battery and a MUCH bigger solar panel. If you only need one USB for wifi then a model A would be fine and consume less power I run a Model A+ with a raspberry pi camera on i and a few sensors with more still to do for my remote chicken house at the bottom of the garden....

Re: Wifi Antenna Raspberry Pi

I have a pi at the end of the garden and use a dedicated wifi link between the two using an old Netgear router in the house with removable antenna and replacing the standard antenna with one of these or similar: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25dBi-2-4GHz-Wireless-WLAN-WiFi-Antenna-RP-SMA-for-Modem-PCI-C...

Did a new install on a new PiB3 (same image) and all worked so I am guessing this was a DNS issue somewhere in the ether.

Re: Unable to Install using apt-get

I would like to add I dont think this problem is the OP's router? I have multiple RPi A's,B2's etc Plugged in my new RpI 3 and cant apt-get update as above. Changed sources.list to manually specify my local mirror and it works so its resolving DNS just fine. B2 works just fine without any changes Th...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

doh fair enough...well it all works now other than tuning my tevii S660 dvb-s2 so maybe something is broken in the build but I wouldnt like to say for sure??? Certainly the tevii works as I have it working with tvheadend on the pi and it is being recognised. The tuning is just going far too fast and...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

No, I just used the premade packages. I've fixed the time issue. Turns out the setup uses upnp to detect other backends on the network. It was trying to talk to my other backend database which is still 0.25. Only spotted it with one line in the console of it trying to resolve the IP of the other ba...

Hi all, I've just made a fresh install of raspbian and installed the mythtv packages. No matter what I do I come up against the msql time zone error when I run mythtv-setup. I've proven the zoneinfo is in msql database but mythtv-setup refuses to accept it. Anyone else seen this? 2013-03-07 15:53:4...
