/etc/resolv.conf getting reset to "# Generated by resolvconf

Hi, I am connected to my Pi (having static IP ) through my Laptop running win7 and has enabled internet connection sharing (ICS) to provide internet to Pi. While "ping 8.8.8.8." is working on my Pi, I am unable to ping google.com or ping -c3 google.com. I checked the /etc/resolv.conf file but it has...

Issue in working with camera module

Hi, I am connected to Pi from my Laptop via SSH and trying with camera module. I am following this tutorial to capture a video using the camera module : http://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/16021420-how-to-install-use-the-raspberry-pi-camera.. When I run the command "raspivid -o video.h2...

Re: IP from cmdline.txt is not taking sometimes

@bharadwajtk - I didn't have a problem using this method with Raspbian, although it was a while ago on a model B. But I did find it a bit flakey when adding it to the NOOBS recovery program in recovery.cmdline when I was trying to overcome my DHCP not working properly from a directly connected lapt...

IP from cmdline.txt is not taking sometimes

Hi, I am setting static IP to Pi by editing the cmdline.txt file in my Laptop. The issue Pi is not picking this IP after boot. I have another SD card which is exactly similar to this one and there I am able to set static IP by changing cmdline.txt file from Laptop. Both my SD cards have some script ...

Re: Pi not getting IP

Thanks Dougie Lawson. I am trying to assign dynamic IP to Pi through my Laptop (ethernet connects Pi to my Laptop and Laptop is connected to the Wifi Network). The way I am doing it is by bridging the wifi and ethernet connections in my laptop and Pi gets an IP automatically. It works very well when...

Re: Pi not getting IP

Thanks for the reply DougieLawson.

So, what step should I take. Should I try to manually assign the IP (I mean static IP to Pi with subnet-mask set as 255.0.0.0?)
How to go about dynamic IP assignment in this case?

Pi not getting IP

Hi, I have connected pi to a network with IP range 192.168.0/1.X using my Laptop. The way I do it is by bridging the Wifi and Ethernet connection of the Laptop and Pi gets an IP. But I have trouble doing it in some networks. E.g. in a network which have IP in the range say, 10.0.x.x. or 20.0.3.x. Wh...

Re: Networking issues with Pi

Actually, I have 2 networks (wifi). One in the range 192.168.1.x and other 192.168.0.x. ICS (i.e. internet connection sharing on windows) works well when I use 192.168.1.x (a broadband connection) and I am able to access internet on Pi (ping google.com works). But, When I connect to the other networ...

Thanks for the reply guys. It allows login through ssh after I bridge the connections(wifi and LAN). But when I use the screen it shows that I need to expand the file system. I tried and it works well. Sorry to bother.

Re: Networking issues with Pi

Hey guys, Thanks. I have bridged the connection (wifi and LAN) and also it works great when the range of IP given by the router is 192.168.x.x if the router gives IP in the range 10.0.3.x Pi doesn't get an IP by bridging. Which system runs the DHCP server for the 10.0.3.x network? Does it log anyth...

Raspberry Pi : First time Login

I have been using Pi for a some time. I recently burnt a new image on my Pi (latest). I am trying to login (first time) without a screen. As I remember, I have done it before and the first time screen was not coming - rather I used to get a message in first login related to file system expansion. Bu...

Networking issues with Pi

Hi, My home network (router's) IP address is in the range of 10.0.3.1 to 10.0.3.255. I am able to connect my computer (through wifi) to this router. But, when I connect my Raspberry Pi through a LAN cable to my computer and try to assign an IP (dhcp enabled) it's not getting an IP? Is Raspberry Pi m...

Joan, sorry for writing incomplete post. 8 or 12 bit will do. Voltage range, around 5 volts . No specific speed requirements.

Can someone please suggest a good DAC (Digital to Analog Converter IC), with more than 3 channels, for raspberry Pi . I have used PCF8591 but it has only one channel (single output).

Thanks Joan. I have written to the device, outside the loop. About the address : I have formulated it referring to the Datasheet. I am able to read the values correctly based on this address. The only problem is this PoR (Power on reset) value is coming in between (once or twice) when I am doing suc...

I2C data reading ( device == PCF8591P) SMBUS/I2Ctool

Hi, I am trying to read data through my ADC (no board, bare PCF8591P Chip) using SMBUS OR I2Ctool. In my code, I am continuously reading the same channel (using loop) for a long time, say 30 iterations etc., to check consistency of the read data. In both the cases (using either SMBUS OR I2Ctool), I ...
