Re: EDID for Dom etc

Yes I tried those settings and the Pi just outputs 640x480 instead, confirmed using tvservice -s, is the monitor saying no so the pi is reverting to that or the override not working? I also have a 1920x1080 Acer monitor I posted about a couple of months ago that only outputs 1680x1050 and when you t...

Re: EDID for Dom etc

These are all the combinations I used, changing the framebuffer just distorted it as would be expected I guess. I am using Debian Weezy if that makes a difference. disable_overscan=1 #overscan_left=16 #overscan_right=16 #overscan_top=16 #overscan_bottom=16 #framebuffer_width=1920 #framebuffer_height...

EDID for Dom etc

I have tried a new monitor this week, it is capable of going up to 1920x1200 DVI-D input but the most I can get out of it with the RPi is 1920x1080. The EDID says there is a couple of unsupported mode, one being 1920x1200. 1920x1080 is good but you get black bars top and bottom and I dont want to st...

Re: C IDE/text editor for Wheezy

I too will be using Visual Studio via SMB as windows is my primary development enviroment but I like using geany for quick changes when my main PC is off or working remotely. I prefer Nano to vi as a command line editor which is just what the standard text editor that I am used to. Command line edit...

Re: C IDE/text editor for Wheezy

Geany was the best choice for a simple IDE but all the colours in the editor are messed up in Wheezy/Geany see this thread. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=8798&p=108001&hilit=geany+wheezy#p108001 I have tried changing them in the config files but they don't come out as the co...

Re: SSH to Raspberry Pi without HDMI

There is also the issue of trying to determine the IP address assigned to your rPi from your DHCP Running a network scanner from another device is quite easy. I use iNet (free) on iphone, but there are many similar tools available for free. Click scan network. About 10 seconds later you'll see the ...

The new Image posted doesnt work for me when using mysql for the database, for some reason any XBMC version that creates/looks at Video63 for its database doesnt work (both OpenELEC and XBMC directly) I did some test of the nightlies and everyone that used a database other than 63 worked fine (incl...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

Not had any smb problems here with any of the builds. was playing a 1080 film over smb last night. Only 2ch audio so wonder if it is more to do with 5.1 decoding and smb putting too much strain on the cpu? There have been alot of reports of the audio over hdmi messing things up?

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

These builds are not releases they are try at your own risk.
There isnt an official release of openelec yet so if you expect each build to be an improvement and bug free you will be disappointed.
I suggest you wait for release software if you want anything near stable.

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

10870 is on page 23 near the bottom.
That should be ok then just update it via the update share.

Windows you might have to assign a drive letter to it in disk management for it to appear cant give you steps as not in front of pc at the moment.

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

I should have pointed out that you should be using "arm128_start.elf" from the raspberrypi git and renaming it to start.elf. This gives 128/128mb split between the GPU and CPU which Openelec recommends.
