sqashfs-tools? aufs-tools?

I am trying to follow the instructions of this blog post.... http://rpitc.blogspot.co.uk/p/squashfsaufs.html Having successfully recompiled the kernel with aufs support I can't find aufs-tools or sqashfs-tools. Has this been deprecated from the repository? I couldn't find any reference to any other ...

Re: Using EasyCap instead of camera

Thanks! Much appreciated. I had to install gstreamer1.0. This is how I did it (for anyone else who may find this thread useful). I created a file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/gstreamer1.0.list with the following contents... deb http://vontaene.de/raspbian-updates/ . main I then installed gstreamer1.0 and...

Re: Using EasyCap instead of camera

Yes. I have found a few snippets. Probably the closest one to what I am trying to do is this one... http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=41844 It leads to the GST module, OMX.broadcom.video_encode. I will look at this but it will take me a while to figure out gstreamer pipes, e...

For the camera one would normally use something like raspivid piped into ffmpeg. Unfortunately raspivid is locked to the camera hardwa...

Re: Just boots to picture of Raspberry with no menu

I found the problem. I interrupted the first attempt at writing the image to the SD card via a SD-USB adaptor because I was going through a USB hub and I suspected it was reducing the speed. I then tried to write the image with the SD card bypassing the adaptor. It wrote the image very quickly, in a...

Just boots to picture of Raspberry with no menu

I have a fresh install of 2013-02-09-wheezy-raspbian on a 4G class-4 SD card. After connecting an HDMI monitor, USB keyboard, mouse, ethernet and USB charger as PSU it boots into a desktop but all I see is one giant raspberry. Knowing LXDE I was expecting a start menu at least. If I right-click then...
