Bluetooth Ad2P not working

Does anyone know how to successfully setup the Pi 3 to receive audio through bluetooth? I've followed about 4 guides and all of them failed in some way. At one point I got it working but the audio would stutter every second or so and cut out, turning off wifi would fix it immediately but the audio w...

Re: Do I need internet when installing Openelec

I am sorry for that, I had a similar issue and it took me a while to find a tool that'd do it right with all my SD cards, and by that I mean it'd format it to it's original size. In case you don't know, I use this HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool http://download.cnet.com/HP-USB-Disk-Storage-Format-To...

Re: Adding a custom OS to Noobs

I'm a bit confused by this, you say it's a replacement for NOOBS? Does it have it's own dual boot option? Isn't it a stand alone OS? I thought of it as, all the OSes on the NOOBS install list have their partitions modified, like in BerryBoot, to add a OS it has to be in compressed SquashFS format. I...

Re: Do I need internet when installing Openelec

Hmm, I recall downloading Openelec through NOOBS and installing it, but I can't imagine it requiring an internet connection for install procedure if you have the installation file. What probably happened was your installation file was corrupted and that's why it ended up messing up your SD card. I h...

Adding a custom OS to Noobs

I am interested in trying out DietPi, but I'd also like to run it through NOOBS. How could I convert it into a NOOBS compatible os?
Yes I did Google this but I didn't find what I was looking for.

Re: UFO detector?

Funny how these things only happen in Texas and it's always the farmers that are sure about them xD. The ones on moonshine of course. You do know even a plane flying across there would have lights, or a helicopter. Just because you see an aircraft in Texas (or wherever you are) doesn't mean it's a U...

Re: New here, have some questions about a possible set up!

If you have wifi at home I suggest using this setup. You could take a Pi, (Raspberry Pi 2 will be a bit better at this due to it's massive performance increase) wire it directly into the RCA inputs on the speaker, then wire that into the 3.5mm audio jack on the Pi. I don't think the audio quality wi...

Try do sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade Then retry your install. To test your internet you can ping google by using ping 8.8.8.8 If you get reply from "xxxx" then you have internet. If you get request timed out only you have no actual internet connection, you're connected to the wifi but...

Re: PC case automation

Your PSU will have a 5v rail on it. My guess is you could make a fitting for the power cables so that it could draw 5v from it into the pi and you can run your 4 dc motors off that same current. You will need to see if it's safe to do that straight off your PSU though, I don't know if the amps will ...

Re: playing audio using raspberry pi 2

If you open up terminal, you can install VLC Media Player by using the following command

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install vlc
After accepting the prompt it will download and install VLC. Then when it's done it should appear in your programs list.

Or, I think, could I change the file extension of the Jar plugins? So they'd still work with just another random file extension or with none at all?

Just a question on the cooling... Couldn't you use a heatsink and a peltier unit? Just out of interest.

Re: Remote Java programming

"massive project" "the file", these 2 shouldnt really occur in the same paragraph. Massive projects ought to be splint in to many modules and separate class files. Testing should be of individual small components so workflow would be modify a class, send class to RPi, run test. Even better might be...

Remote Java programming

I'd like to do my Java programming on my PC and export it to my Pi, then execute it. All automatically through Eclipse. I want to do a massive GPIO project with Pi4J, and I tried using Java ME, and it does what I want it to. I can write my program, then execute it on the Pi, then the output is forwa...

Quake 3 compile time

So I got the Pi 2 yesterday (after ordering it 2 hours after it came out) and finally after having to reformat my card because noobs didn't want to boot (was the release before the current one) and no way of updating... I had it running and it was time to test out Quake. I downloded Quake 3 source c...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 review with a lot of benchmarks posted

Best and most thorough review by far! I would give it a 10 out of 10 rating... But on page 6 at the bottom you spelt quite as "quire"... And so I only would give it a 2 out of 10 rating. Haha just joking. Interesting though to see the C1... I thought it would thrash the Pi in benchmarks... at 1.5GHZ...

Re: Undervolt on Pi 2, with 2A supply, why?

It might be your cable, my Samsung S4 is only charging at 460ma sometimes because of the faulty cable, wear and tear I guess. I replaced the cable and it's fine. I've also noticed with Samsung chargers it only charges non Samsung devices at 500ma (same as most USB's) and the same may apply with Appl...

Yes your SD card will work with the new Pi. We can see you're new. But basically, all the hardware that works on the previous Pi's will work on this Pi. Also I recommend a 2A good quality power supply for your Pi2

Check ID of whiptail process

Hi, basically, in a script I've been working on, I've been using whiptail as an interface, and I noticed while running a function in the background containing a whiptail message box dialog, I end up with two processes. Basically, I have whiptail as a status window, and when it's all done I want that...
