Full FOV test 1296x730 48fps

Hi

I just want to share this little test video with you:

http://youtu.be/1NFz6qVa5Kw

This new Full FOV is gonna be very useful for filming from my Quad-copter :)
The Full FOV gives a more steady image from my Quad-copter, because isn't as "zoomed in" as the original 1080p FOV.

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

I am just about to try this on my quad as well. But i will have to spend a lot of time trying to reduce vibrations as well. I have a propeller balancer on the way from china :) I have connected a switch to a GPIO to start the camera running, but i wondered how you start and stop the video. I have d...

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

Is that the 1080P HD version of the 808? Nope, I think is a version 808 #3 (720x480) http://www.chucklohr.com/808/C3/index.html (It's hard to see the version number on the 808 cam.) It don't use the 808 cam any more, the Raspberry Pi Camera is way better. I'm working on a servo gimbal and some stab...

It should be better now. (Only anti shake turned on)
badgerpi wrote:Have you tried balancing the rotors ?
Not yet, but I going to when I get some new propeller adapters. (so I can get the propellers closer to the motors)

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

Looks quite good. So I know people say the Youtube stabilizer makes them sick due to the warping, but would you mind uploading that same source video again and then enabling the Youtube stabilizer? I’m really curious how it will deal with this video. See these examples . Would be fun to see both ve...

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

I have just tested some of your suggestions while I was practicing flying my quad in the sunset. :) I'm now using raspivid with the following command: raspivid -o testvideo.h264 -t 240000 -vf -fps 30 -vs -b 30000000 -ex antishake -awb sun ( -vs -b 30000000 -ex antishake -awb sun ) is the new paramet...

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

Just adding my new quad video recorded with the Raspberry Pi Camera :) http://youtu.be/rU4-ysROEDw I need some form of vibration damping for my Raspberry Pi Camera. The video quality is super on the ground and bad i the air. I also guess that if the camera was more wide angle , the video wouldn't su...

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

How much compression were you using? Am I correct that you recorded this to the SD card on the Pi board? Yes it was recorded to the SD card (class 6 sanDisk 8 GB) using the this command: (Added in the /etc/rc.local file, to get the recording to start automatically) raspivid -o $(date +"%Y%m%d%H%M%S...

Re: How to add text-overlay with raspivid?

I'm going to look in to this when I have time. .... It's not going to be soon though. I'm having to do actual work at the moment. Thanks for the reply! I'm going to ask for more spare time for you in my evening prayer ;) Thanks for the effort so far! :) A text-overlay will be a very nice feature to...

Re: My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

Thanks for the reply's :-) Your right about the re-compression. The original looks better than the youtube edition. Especially if I play it on a full HD television :-) I have uploaded the original file here: http://www.filedropper.com/20130520081721 ( I don't know where else to put a 119 MB file.......

How to add text-overlay with raspivid?

Is it possible to add a text-overlay directly to the video captured with raspivid ? I would like to add some GPS-info and some other live data from my Quadcopter (using the UART to get the info from my quad). It would be very nice to have some live data in my Raspberry Pi Quadcopter video : :) http:...

My Quadcopter with Raspberry Pi Camera

I just finished my new Quadcopter and on the first flight I tested the Raspberry Pi Camera (1080p @ 30fps) vs my old 808 keychain cam. ( Sorry for the shaky video! The quad is not "PID tuned" yet. (My first flight with this quad). ) http://youtu.be/-dReyGvzAQw :) Can't wait to get the quad PID tuned...
