Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

well after trawling through all the posts in this thread it seems pretty clear that the official pi4 case is not fit for purpose and they should stop selling it with immediate effect. Some litigious types could make this thing cost them serious money if they don't get a handle on it... I just got o...

the pi supply won't fast charge your phone though. if you plug it in, your phone might complain.

Re: Cannot remove text starting with /

by remove do you mean you do not want "webcam start" to run?

Put a # in front of the line.
# /home/pi/webcam start

This will be the same as deleting the line.

At least that's what I think you mean. You want the script to end at "fi" right?

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

So I plugged in a Samsung phone charger that supplies 5.12 volts at 2 amps........so far, no dreaded low voltage lightning bolt.
So far, I have the pi running youtube videos on a web browser, the current drain has ranged from .6A to .9A.

I was a little confused about the two mini HDMI ports vs one full size one,
FYI they are micro HDMI not mini HDMI.
PeterO
That's nothing. Someone in a previous post said HTML port.

Re: Reasoning behind dual Micro HDMI, and potential future alternatives?

There's no facility in the SoC for display over USB, so that is a non-starter. With regards to dual height connectors, they would apply too much torque to the attachment point The micro-HDMI are the right size, are robust (I've been plugging in and out for months with no problems), cheap, and we no...

What functions does the USB C connector provide besides 5 volts?
On the Pi4B it is actually a functional USB 2 port, with OTG capability.

that would make a good dock, right doc?

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

I'm still waiting for pi 6. I demand the engineers get to work right away. There are probably folks at RPT already thinking about the Pi6, while the Pi5 is probably already starting to be sketched out. jamesh mentioned that they had been discussing the Pi6 a few days ago. Ugh I missed it. I've been...

The base RPi 4 B should have started off at 4 GB with a socket to add more.
I have a PC with a full AT motherboard running linux. I have installed 32 big ones in the 4 memory slots. When it's not running virrtualbox, it only uses less than 3 or 6 GB. And most of that is due to firefox bloat.

The reference is to the dog in the Toy Story movies. Your picture, however, is Crabbe as Flash Gordon. (And, no, I didn't have to look that up.)
Oh, I was watching an old video of Caspa the Lion Man starring Buster Crabbe and then.....I see the news about the pi 4 running Buster.
