Re: apt-get stuck

Getting this on the latest version of Raspbmc :/ Am experiencing this issue on 3.12.21 - not sure how this is present as the link below suggest it was fixed in an earlier version: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/commit/c355dcdab48bf94a63f2106c704163e22606d3de 1. Anyone knows how to apply the fi...

Re: Request: Minimal Raspbian image

Would be great if Mr Upton's team consider this; As Raspberry pi users learn more stuff on the Pi, they would want to customize it their way based on the very basic minimal distro. What do you guys think of minbian? ... Seems like a good compromise and seems to be quite loyal at not tampering with t...

Re: 4G Dongle - Alcatel L800Z - use as a modem?

Is it connected to 2 networks perhaps?

If you're ssh-ing via the ethernet port (i.e. the pi connected to another network) that network may be conflicting.

Re: Simple POTS/PSTN VoIP bridge

I am interested in this idea too. I was wondering if there is a module for this... like the following. http://www.abelectronics.co.uk/products/3/Raspberry-Pi/27/1-Wire-Pi If this could handle the comms from a telephone line i.e. voltage and signals potentially via a software package, then this would...

Re: TV flicking - under power issue? same on xbian and raspb

You may want to try the following:

sudo apt-get install fbset
fbset
fbset -accel true
fbset

cd /opt/vc/bin
./tvservice -s
./tvservice --explicit="CEA 32"
./tvservice -s

Re: What is the maximal limit for SD card?

I am using a Platinum 128GB SD card.

works fine:

root@b:~# df -h /
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mmcblk0p2 120G 68G 51G 58% /

Curious to know if 256GB are supported.

Re: Is any Linux source compilable on Pi?

Thanks Dougie :) That is useful ! So would be interested to know how to check if a project is compilable on Pi. i.e. Let's say I have the source. Are there any files I need to look in to see that the actual target CPU is compatible or supported, memory required etc? Anyone, please respond to my prev...

Is any Linux source compilable on Pi?

So here's the scenario. I have been using Raspbian as my main distribution and have been tweaking it by stripping it down to a minimum - remove packages etc. And now considering switching to ArchLinuxARM version of Pi as it seems to be a leaner OS. The idea is to use the leanest OS whilst using soft...

Power Supply Reading

Hi All,

Is there a way to get an actual reading of the power  (V and possibly mA) being supplied through the mini-USB to the Pi please?

Thanks.

Re: RaspBerry Pi(e) Model C (imaginations & wants)

In my opinion these would be the recommendations for the upcoming model: -CPU: I would keep the Pi on ARM given the very low consumption with a possible speed bump -RAM: Increasing the ram for such device will definitely improve its performance - I would hope for 1GB and my TOP PRIORITY would be the...

Re: Dropbox-like filecloud

Have you guys set up SparkleShare as a daemon in CLI?

What about iFolder? It seems it's just for Suse now, but there is some old source code available.
