Re: Preview to fb1 ?

You should use full path in init script. "~" used to access home directory of current user (init script run as root user), but might be not working in init script. Re: Preview to fb1 ?

... You asked for feedback so here's a short lo-res video showing hdmi screen flashing when using: raspivid -t 0 It only occurs on hdmi. The tft "mirroring" is flash-free. That in itself is interesting, as yesterday when I first connected the tft display I had several hours of tft backlight flashin...

Re: Preview to fb1 ?

I'm test with 2.8" 240x320 (Renesas R61505 flexfb SPI 60Mhz). I did not measure framerate. It take ~ 10ms to take screenshot and copy to framebuffer. It enought to preview camera or play video with omxplayer (better than mplayer on framebuffer). I put 50ms delay in each loop to reduce cpu usage (now...

Re: Experiment with Camera Module : MMAL, OpenCV, Overlay

Good jobs , geo. I'm busy for a while. Will be back and implement your technique soon. Hi All When using the original video_record.c from tasanakorn the CPU load went up to 85%. To reduce CPU load while recording video i slowed down the overlay update rate in main() ,usleep(1000000) . The problem th...

Re: Experiment with Camera Module : MMAL, OpenCV, Overlay

Did you redirect standard output to file My code just print data to standard output. You need to redirect output to file or pipe to another program. If not, it will print out a lot of data to console and slow down CPU. BTW, I will recheck my code, add more document and record demolition video soon. ...

Re: Experiment with Camera Module : MMAL, OpenCV, Overlay

It already done in GPU before callback and achieve 30fps. But we have sent buffer back and exit function as fast as possible to avoid frame drop. Because of I didn't know how to use vc to process data, All image processing will running on ARM side. We can speed up data moving by using dma. But the b...

Re: Camera module blocks access to second i2c bus on port5?

Thank you for the hints. Now, I can work around my problem (Use i2c-1 and camera as same time) by just unbind i2c-0 from linux kernel. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=46299&p=367237#p367237 Camera accesses the I2C via a I2C driver on the GPU. This code is closed source, but th...

Re: Using the other i2c bus hangs raspistill

Hi, Good news. Finally, I can work around this problems (at least in my case). Just unbind i2c bus 0 from linux i2c driver. sudo -s echo bcm2708_i2c.0 > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/bcm2708_i2c/unbind Now, I can mad pulling I2C and Camera simultaneously. IMHO, conflict between Camera Driver (I2C-0 from...

Re: Camera module blocks access to second i2c bus on port5?

Hi, jamesh Do you know how the camera driver accessing i2c port ? Is it access register directly or via i2c driver ?. (I guess, It access i2c register directly because camera can operate without i2c driver) Might be we have to looking inside camera driver not i2c driver. Custom C program to enable i...

Re: Experiment with Camera Module : MMAL, OpenCV, Overlay

Hello tasanakorn, just a question. How do you do to loop your image acquisition? Do you start in loop you software or you have had a loop into your code? Hi, I not quite sure what you means. For opencv demo. video_buffer_callback should be called by mmal every frame arrive. This function will copy ...

Yes. process on encoder input buffer in I420 format (12 bit per pixel, 1,382,400 bytes per frame).

It should be better if we can process in video core.

Experiment with Camera Module : MMAL, OpenCV, Overlay

Just want to share my experiment with Pi camera module. That's you know, camera module does not come with V4L drive. (even it has, I don't expect we can use all camera feature) I take a week too understand how camera module work, and want to share. - We can use MMAL api to capture video to memory bu...
