Re: Wifi Hotspot and Client with one USB stick ?

From my knowledge you cannot run a wifi usb/card on two different modes.
You can only run one of them.

Code: Select all

sudo iwconfig wlan0
Mode can be Managed which is client mode, Master which is Access Point Mode, and also many other modes.

Re: MAC ID changer (spoofer)

If you are running RaspBian you can install "macchanger" sudo apt-get install macchanger Run "man macchanger" to learn how to use it. There is also a way to change mac address on ethernet. You can add smsc95xx.macaddr=B8:AA:BC:DE:F0:12(example mac) to config.txt to change mac on boot(never used this)

I recommend "htop".
apt-get install -y htop
Its similar to top but with graph.
Runs on terminal.

Re: Installing Kodibuntu to SD card

I tried updating XBian recently and it's breaks after updating. Blank screen and asks for shift to enter shell. On Pi1. I tried OSMC and after command line to change keyboard layout, it's the one i kept. Because i like installing packages. which openelec doesn't allow (or isn't as easy as apt-get st...

Re: Installing Kodibuntu to SD card

OpenElec is very good, simple to setup, allows some tweaks. Using on my Pi2, it's very good. OSMC (previous RaspBMC) is good also, simple to setup, much more tweakable, since it's debian, allows installing packages through apt-get which for advanced linuxers is good. XBian is good, i am having probl...

Re: Pi smoother without force_turbo ?

True. There is a lot to consider when trying to improve speed.
Disable services not in use.
Optimizing Kodi cache, and many more.
I/O Speed

Thanks for pointing out more things related to speed. Gonna check what i can tweak.

Re: Pi smoother without force_turbo ?

Yes. force_turbo=1 overrides any settings of governor and goes to max all the time.
With force_turbo=0 what Pi uses to detect that it needs to improve speed? "up_threshold" on the governor?

Re: Pi2 3A Charger?

Searching around i found max_usb_current=1
This enables more Amps on the USB Ports from 600mA to 1.2A from what i read.
So Pi2 and external disk drive that has 2USB (1 Data+Power and 1 Additional power if not enough), which would consume maybe 1A(2x500amp) would a 2A be enough?

Pi smoother without force_turbo but similar?

Hi. I was looking for a way to boost speed of pi2 / pi (i have both), and remove some lags that i had in openelec and others. I searched around and found that a lot of people recomend using force_turbo=1 which voids the warranty. Now this is a mini pc very cheap, but i would like to keep the warrant...

Script Create AP

Just sharing a script that creates a Acess Point on debian Pi:
wget "webwork.web44.net/AcessPoint.sh"
chmod +x AcessPoint.sh
sudo ./AcessPoint.sh

And answer some questions, and after that it sets it up for you.

Re: Overclocking

Hi. What is the max overclock you guys got without overvolting? Is there any serious disadvantage with overvolting? Safe temperatures? Mine reaches 57Cº when using etherpad-lite or ssh tunnel. I'm looking for a stable / fast overclock to be 24/7 stable, without much overvolt... This is my stable ove...
