[Python robot] Suggestions?

Hellolo! I'm working on a two wheeled robot right now. I've made a raw_input mode and a keypress mode. The raw_input mode is simple, you write W, A, S or D for forward, left, backwards, right and then enter how long it should go that way. The keypress mode is simple, you just press the arrows to dec...

Re: How do you "poll" the keyboard?

I'm not entirely clear what you are trying to achieve with the inequality. I used c > 1 to make the loop skip over the (imagined) key checking details to do other processing (which is the whole point of using this technique rather than 'input'). curses.KEY_UP seems to be integer 259 and down is 258...

Re: How do you "poll" the keyboard?

I think curses is pretty simple. If python was a programming language specific to the RPi then it probably could have lots of functions built in that were specific to the way the hardware worked. However python works on any system, so it does things in a much more efficient and more flexible way im...

Re: if "w" pressed do:

Typing from my phone so sorry for lack of specifics. The important bit is SSH (putty) As standard Pygame is looking for a local keyboard and SSH isn't it. There may be a way to force python/Pygame to read key presses over SSH. If this is just for you then another option is to run X over SSH as it w...

I'm almost 100% sure that PyGame wont work with ssh(putty), because I've tried almost everything.. Help ple...

I tried some pygame examples, the problem is that i get either the error 'video not initialized' or 'event is not named'.

Can I get a example that you know works?

Why don't you show us what you've tried so far - you may be much closer to the answer than you think!
Tried so many different so I can't link/post them all, because I didn't save them.

if "w" pressed do:

Hellolo!

How would I do this? I've googled it but the only thing I can find is printing the character that has been pressed, I tried to modify several examples with no success.
What could I use for this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: L298N - Wich pins?

Because you a) may want to use a serial interface, b) might want to use SPI or c) might want to use I2C. There's eight pins free. When you run out of pins hook up a MCP23017 I2C chip and add an extra 16 GPIOs. You can "daisy chain" up to eight MCP23017 chips (with the 3-bit addressing pins) for a t...

I meant, why avoid using the multi-purpose pins?(If Im not wrong, thats the GPIO's?)

Python Questions - py2exe?

Hellolo! I'm going to try to make a game, and I got some questions about that. * py2exe question, is the ''downloader'' forced to download python or the modules that I'm gonna use? (I think PyGame) * py2exe question, will the .exe work on the RPi? Or is there another similar that will make an ''exec...
