Re: New project: Make an Initial State dashboard for weather data

Will the announcement of changes at initial state made today impact our uploading of data to them?

Re: Web template

I have updated to version 15 of this web template. Not much fun to go from 8 to 15 .How ever if you are just starting dive right in to 15. Things have changed a little bit from 8 -> 15. I am running circles to get the data where it needs to be. I was not able to wrap my head around getting the new A...

Re: Weather Underground - IP camera

I have been able to send photos, however I am using the standard rpi camera. But if you can get an image saved from the camera then you should be able to upload it. I am using "mmal-motion" to capture images so I grab an image saved by that software. Make sure to save the image as the same name each...

Re: Mac Classic turned Raspberry Camera

Cleaned up the computer a little bit. Button is now on the inside with a red plexi-glass cut to fit in the disk slot. Also I cracked the back of the CRT off using gloves, glasses, trashcan and a small hammer. So the screen has the old school CRT/Glass feel. front.JPG button.JPG crt.JPG Unit now powe...

It is possible to push your data to both the oracle database and Wunderground.

I have Josh's code running currently to push data to Wunderground

Updated Oracle Database

Do existing weather stations need to update/change anything for data to be sent to the new database as described in the weather station newsletter email? Or do the current settings already point to the new database? http://us11.campaign-archive1.com/?u=2a5d5a7b9d5ef9c1fe997e564&id=08e6355090&e=572a6...

Re: Web template

I recently was able to upgrade to the newest version of Meteotemplate. Version 11. it is currently set to pull data from the local sql data base and display it. The site is hosted on the pi. You can customize the layout thanks to blocks/modules.

Re: Solar Radiation

Standard glass does block some uv radiation. In working with screen printing I found out there is a sheet plastic that is used in tanning equipment that allows most uv and ir to pass. Ask at a sheet goods supplier for some thing that passes uv. Bonus is that it is resistant to breaking.

I followed the steps but is does not seem to add the columns to the table SETTINGS. I ran the following lines: mysql -u root -p weather -e "update SETTINGS set value='KKSNEW...

Ok. That makes more sense.

When do you think you will have the steps for editing the settings table added to the directions. I understand the concept but I do not know how to complete it so it works.

Josh- I am trying the Wunderground add on in the development branch. I already had a station ID from a previous station that has died. Do I edit the wunderground-api.php to make the following changes? $url .= "ID=" . $row["@WUNDERGROUND_ID"] . "&"; $url .= "PASSWORD=" . $row["@WUNDERGROUND_PASSWORD"...

With the new anemometer and the change in the number I captured a gust of wind that was 30 MPH. The building might have partially blocked the winds but much closer than previous readings.

Could some one verify if the math is similar to the following:

or

That one rotation per second is 2.4 KPH (1.49 MPH) as described here:

Re: Questionable wind speeds

Recieved a replacement via Amazon. It only has a 15 inch cable so had to put pieces closer together. But I am now seeing wind speeds above 0.01 MPH and Gusts above 0.1 MPH.

Re: Questionable wind speeds

Found a possible replacement anemometer on Amazon. It should be here Monday. If it works then I know the other one has died. I took the one I have apart and nothing seemed out of place or broken. So I can only guess that the reed switch has failed.

With the help of the developer this morning, he created a php script that automatically pulls data from the weather table, converts to the correct format, and saves to a second table. So currently the template sees the data and is serving it up. The devel...
