Re: Questions around Pi-Top laptop

@rricharz Hey - thanks for your repo. I'm trying to get devices to use the internal hub controller but no joy. I specifically want to plug a modem into it. Are there any drivers that I need to install? The kernel does see it: dmesg | grep hub [ 0.143659] usbcore: registered new interface driver hub ...

Re: [solved] update-rc.d creates links with wrong sequences

OK, so Debian has moved to dependency-based ordering. The man page is far from clear about this though. However update-rc.d is happily ignoring the dependency-based stuff and adding my scripts out of order :?

update-rc.d creates links with wrong sequences

Hi, I have a config manager and a high level app that need to run in a particular order - the app last at startup as a daemon and the config manager before it. The man page says I need to do this to start the app: sudo update-rc.d myapp start 80 2 3 4 5 . stop 20 0 1 6 . No errors, no warnings and a...

Re: [SOLVED]OpenMAX video decode not terminating all its thr

ilclient_wait_for_event(video_render, OMX_EventBufferFlag, 90, 0, OMX_BUFFERFLAG_EOS, 0, ILCLIENT_BUFFER_FLAG_EOS, 10000); This line was the problem. The component was called video_render but it's in fact an egl_render so shouldn't be listening on port 90 but 220. But it doesn't receive any events ...

Re: OpenMAX video decode not terminating all its threads

Dom is there a workaround for this other than trying some advanced syscall(tgkill...) hackery? 8-) My guess is the omx cleanup code is not correct which is stopping a correct shutdown. This demo was actually provided by OtherCrashOverride, and as it's effectively an infinite loop, the shutdown code...

Re: OpenMAX video decode not terminating all its threads

Can you attach gdb and find which thread is not being killed? Can you find where it is in backtrace? Sure. Here's the first run through: (gdb) info threads [New Thread 0xb4561470 (LWP 4086)] Id Target Id Frame 7 Thread 0xb4561470 (LWP 4086) "hello_videocube" clone () at ../ports/sysdeps/unix/sysv/l...

Update: OpenMAX video decode not terminating all its threads

I've just tried another thing: clearing the fill_buffer_done callback before enabling the state transitions and they now work fine. So it can't be the state transition code. There seems to be a problem with OMX or ilclient not cleaning up after itself.

Updated code attached.

[SOLVED]OpenMAX video decode not terminating all its threads

Hi folks, I've modifed hello_videocube to show what I believe is a bug in the OpenMAX or ilclient implementation. The way hello_videocube is written is that when the end of the Big Buck Bunny sample ends, it rewinds the file pointer so that the movie starts from the beginning and the demo continues ...

Re: Is the FBIO_WAITFORVSYNC ioctl implemented in Rpi's fb?

I am getting the exact 60 fps using 'set virtual offset' via the mailbox through ioctl to the char_dev file/node under Raspbian ...which is obviously to be expected as it ties tightly to the display refresh rate. My tester draws 200 sprites (54x54 pixels size) moving and bouncing off the screen sid...
